I had a wonderful time at the hostel. The place is every bit as nice as the profile suggested. The vibe there is so positive, friendly and funny. The accommodations for the volunteers are comfortable (I even stayed for a while in a private room, since the shared rooms were full of guests) and believe me, you will love the breakfast (so yummy!) Also, the work tasks are very organized, flexible and easy to reach. At the free time, I loved to spend time at one of the beautiful beaches of Pichilemu, or hanging around with the volunteers crew or guests from all over the world. I had a blast!

I had a great time volunteering at the farm. The place is beautiful, and the duties are interesting. Gonzalo is a great host, he's always worried about our needs. The work time is fare and easy to accomplish. The cabin for the volunteers is comfortable, the weekly food list provided is generous, and we had bikes to ride to places around. The vibe at the farm is peaceful, and I enjoyed meeting the people that work there, they're very kind, easygoing and helpful. I recommend this volunteering for whom would enjoy a quiet place to reload the energies, and learn more about plants and nature.

If we could have kept Ana and Josi forever, we would have. Ana is incredibly diligent and responsible. She learns quickly but is also not afraid to say if she doesn't understand something - she wants to get it right. Together, Ana and Josi basically ran the hostel themselves after only a week. They kept the place neat and clean and provided a warm and friendly environment for our guests. Having them here made our lives so much easier and even afforded us the opportunity to get away for a few days.

Carrol and Andre gave us a great opportunity at Wanderfalls Hostel! I'm sure this experience improved my personal growth, and even my professional skills for when I come back for Brazil. They are very supportive and kind, and their personal story with the hostel is really inspiring! Definitely, I suggest Wanderfalls Hostel for volunteers and guests!

Such a great experience! Carroll and Andre are amazing hosts, and they did everything to make my volunteering time there a happy one. Besides the patience to teach the tasks (and sometimes teach again), they also noticed that my friend and I didn't have ideal clothes for the snow, so, they lent us warm coats and boots. On Saint Patrick's Day, they also cooked a traditional dinner for us. It was delicious! In the hostel, the weekly volunteer schedules are well organized, and the tasks are easily done. The best part, is meeting the guests and make friends from all over the world!

About me as an author

I've been a nomad traveler since 2018, having the opportunity to live incredible experiences all over the world. I'm a published writer, a journalist, and a specialist in Marketing. I'm also a book lover, a vegetarian, a hiker, and a runner. My most cherished memories from the road are the interesting people I met and the friends I made.

Background

Education

I have a university degree in Journalism, specialization in Marketing and Communication, and also a Master's Degree in Business.

Work experience

For nine years (2009-2018) I worked as a product manager in a newspaper company in my hometown. There I managed online and printed products such as magazines, special editions of the newspaper, websites, business profiles in social media, and organizing and managing events.

For all those years I handled big responsibilities, and the most important lesson I have learned is about planning and organizing, skills I believe are important in all areas. In my daily routine, I worked with many people, like clients, readers, business partners, coworkers, and directors, so I think I have learned from negotiating a big problem to keep an uncompromising chatting.

Since starting my journey around the world, I have been working as a blogger - I write weekly for a Brazillian website called Tudo & Todas — and I've also been working as a novelist (you can find all my books on Amazon) and as a professional beta reader. These jobs are perfect for my nomad life since I can organize my schedule around working, volunteering, touring, etc.

Travel experience

Since my childhood, I have been dreaming about traveling. I was born in a middle-class family in a small city in the south of Brazil (I'm from Luxembourgish ascendency and I'm also a citizen of Luxembourg) and traveling has always been a big deal because of the money and the challenges abroad. But my family has taught me the importance of working hard and believing in my dreams, and after studying, working, and saving money, in 2014, I had my first opportunity abroad. I was in Toronto, Canada, in an exchange program. Since that, I have been saving all my money to travel and offer this great experience to my family too.

At the beginning of 2018, I finally had the courage to give up a 9-to-5 schedule and a stable and comfortable life and embrace my dream of traveling the world. I've been permanently changed since then.

I think travel is the greatest way to learn about History, Geography, languages, and culture, and after a trip, I'm not the same person I was just some weeks before. Every single experience makes me grow as an individual and as part of a global community, open my mind, and feel more tolerant and empathic. Meeting people from all over the world and learning more about their lives is a big treasure, and I feel truly blessed about the opportunity of traveling and discovering new things every day.
