Camila was a valuable team member and we could not ask for a better person! Dedicated, precise and responsible, yet friendly, easygoing and cheerful, Camila was exactly what we expect from a volunteer. We wish her all the best!!!

I had a great time at the hostel! The hosts are super nice and funny! They made me feel welcomed and at home. I was helping them during the night shift, which consisted in cleaning (1h), making sure the guests are quiet after 11pm (this is NOT a party place) and opening the door. I had plenty of time to explore Belgrade and I loved the city! The hostel is right in the centre so I could walk pretty much everywhere. I can't wait to go back!

I loved my stay at the hostel. Nami, the host, is super fair and flexible. The work is not hard, the location is perfect and you get to meet a lot of new people everyday. There is a lot of free time to explore Lençóis and Chapada Diamantina. Once you are here, you find really cheap ways to discover the main waterfalls. I totally recommend the experience! I was supposed to have spent 2 weeks there and I spent a whole month. It's worth it and super hard to leave this place!

About me as an author

Background

Education

I studied tourism and business management in Brazil, and I had the chance to spend some time living in London, Madrid and Paris.
I also had the chance to a part of "Flowmakers" community, that teaches everything that university doesn't: non-violent communication, peace culture, empathy, meditation... It was a great journey of self-knowledge.
Most recently I have studied U Theory from MIT and Teal Organizations, companies that are operating in the next evolutionary level.
I'm also very interested in History in general, including History of Art.

Work experience

I worked for a hostel in 2010/2011 and it was a great experience. I used to work at reception and administration. I've also worked for some tourism agencies, I was a tour guide, a manager in a clinic... anyway, quite an ecletic resumé! But my main focus is hospitality, business management and development.
I worked in Worldpackers for 2,5 years and it was a great experience. At first I was in the finance department but then I moved to the "host's side". That means I created a whole new process to approve hosts, make sure their profile looks good, that hosts are receiving all education and information they need to succeed. So I have a lot of experience with communication, customer success, creating new processes and managing a team.

Travel experience

I travelled a lot in Europe, got to go to Spain, Portugal, Italy, France, Germany, Hungary, Austria, UK, Ireland, The Netherlands and Belgium. I've been to a lot of places in Brazil too, but there is still a lot to discover. :)
In 2018, I plan to:
February - April: travel around Brazil (Northeast)
June - August: travel around Eastern Europe and the Balcans.
September - January 2019: South East Asia.
But of course, plans might change on the way!
