1770 Beachside Backpacker
We are a cosy Hostel where travellers can get to know our staff and other guests easily. Volunteers have a clean airconditioned (& heated) room with it's own bathroom. We have a swimming pool & are right on the beach.
The Manager and staff have created a friendly, relaxed environment to work in and enjoy spending free time surfing, hiking and exploring the beautiful, natural environment of Agnes Water and 1770. We like our volunteers to leave with happy memories and a positive experience - same for both them and our guests.

Dream place to relax! Agnes Water is a wonderfully quiet yet extremely beautiful surf town—perfect for unwinding. The hostel is well-equipped, has everything you need, and its direct beach access is ideal for surfing! A huge thank you to David as well: he is a fantastic host, and the working hours here are very fair. I really enjoyed my time and would definitely love to come back!

An unforgettable experience! The place is small and peaceful, but perfect for disconnecting. The beach is only a 5-minute walk away, which is a real daily delight. Dave is very welcoming and attentive. I met the restaurant staff, and their exceptional kindness and thoughtfulness made me feel right at home from day one. I highly recommend this experience to all travelers seeking authenticity and meaningful connections!

We had the best time at the hostel Backpackers in Agnes Water! Greg and Dave are amazing managers who are always there when you need them and make everyone feel welcome. Between Greg's weekly barbecues, limo trips to the hostel, karaoke, trivia nights, and free surfboards, there was always something fun to do. Our tasks included cleaning the dorms and common areas, with a fair workload and plenty of free time to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The volunteer team made this experience unforgettable, and we'll always cherish the memories. We would come back anytime! ❤️🏄♀️☀️🌊

I had a wonderful experience at the hostel Backpackers. The housekeeping tasks were easy and fair, leaving plenty of free time to relax at the beach. Agnes Water is a great place to slow down and recharge—there isn't a huge amount to do, but don't miss the line dancing on Tuesdays! I'd absolutely recommend staying here if you're looking for some downtime while travelling.

I spent 5 weeks in Agnes Water, it's a quite place without much to do besides go to the beach, surf (they have a good variety of boards) and do some walks. If you want some peace it's an amazing place to stay for a while! The work is fair and easy, the rooms are good and the kitchen is really well equipped.
