Experience authentic Andean life in Saylla, Cusco 🏔️🌿
Our family home is located in Saylla, around one hour from Cusco, in a peaceful setting surrounded by Andean mountains and countryside.
We offer two different volunteer experiences, depending on our family's needs and availability.
🏔️ Mountain property improvement
Our mountain property is about a 15-minute walk from the family home, where volunteers stay.
This is a long-term family project focused on gradually cleaning, organizing, maintaining and improving the property. There are terraces, gardens, paths, stairs and outdoor spaces with many opportunities for practical and creative improvements.
We especially welcome volunteers who enjoy DIY projects, gardening, maintenance, carpentry, landscaping and working outdoors.
🐾 Family home and animal care
When my mother travels, we may also welcome volunteers to help care for our family home and animals.
We have three dogs and two cats. This experience involves light household cleaning, keeping shared spaces organized, feeding the animals and taking the dogs for walks.
Volunteers can coordinate their schedules and days off according to the arrangements agreed upon before their stay.
🌿 Experience life in Saylla
Whichever experience you choose, you will stay in our family home and have the opportunity to experience everyday life in a quieter part of the Cusco region.
Saylla is a lovely base for exploring Cusco, the Sacred Valley and the surrounding Andean countryside.
If you have a valid driving licence and are comfortable driving, a car may also be available for your personal use.
Please check the individual position for its specific activities, schedule, meals and benefits.
My name is Roxana. I am originally from Cusco and currently live in Europe, but I remain closely involved in our family home and mountain property in Saylla.
My mother normally lives in our family home together with my godson César and our dogs and cats. She is independent and occasionally travels. César helps with everyday matters around the house and property when needed.
As I am not currently living in Cusco, I coordinate our volunteer experiences remotely and remain available through WhatsApp and video calls to discuss priorities, answer questions and help with any arrangements.
For the mountain project, we appreciate volunteers who enjoy working independently, suggesting practical improvements and sharing occasional photos and updates about their progress.
For the home and animal-care experience, we value responsible people who genuinely enjoy being around animals and can follow their agreed daily routines.
We believe in a friendly and respectful exchange. Volunteers are welcomed as guests in our family home, with respect for their privacy, independence and free time.
In return, we appreciate clear communication, reliability and consideration for the family's routines and shared spaces.
We want volunteers to feel comfortable, enjoy their time in Saylla and have a meaningful experience while contributing to our family projects.
