Hostel Serena
To live some time in the cultural laidback village Samaipata, in beautiful and authentic Bolivia will give you great experiences! In and around Samaipata there is much to do! From the musea to beautiful nature. It´s important you speak English since most of our guests are foreigners, and reasonable Spanish. Welcome!
We´re a Bolivian-Dutch family with two children (5 and 7 years), we opened our hostel end october 2016 in Samaipata. Located on 10 minutes by foot from the main square and market, with a magnificent view over the green mountains and the village Samaipata.

Hacer voluntariado en Hostal the hostel estuvo muy bueno. Es un lugar muy acogedor en las montañas y Samaipata es perfecta para conectar con naturaleza. El trabajo tiene 2 turnos, un turno con buena cantidad de trabajo - principalmente limpieza y check-ins, y otro turno de la tarde que es mucho más tranquilo. Compartes el dormitorio con otro voluntario. Quería conectarme más con la cultura local allí pero la mayoría de los huéspedes son europeos. En general si buscas un lugar lindo y organizado con buena energía, es lugar para vos. Gracias a Bert y María por esta oportunidad! Buena suerte 👍🏼

Mi experiencia en el hostal fue de mas maravillosa, desde el momento que llegue alli me senti parte del hogar, Bert y su familia me recibieron de la manera mas calida desde el primer momento, me diverti mucho haciendo pancakes para el desayuno y jugando con la gatita Sushi,las tareas siempre fueron claras desde el comienzo lo cual hicieron que el tiempo voluntariando sea estupendo, el Hostal es hermoso y la energia que hay alli aun mas, hace que te quieras quedar siempre mas tiempo, recomiendo 100% este voluntariado. Gracias Bert, familia,Rosa y compañeras voluntarias por hacerme parte

I had a really nice time at the hostel. Samaipata is beautiful, the hostel is very zen and the work is straight forward. I enjoyed my time even more when there was 2 of us volunteering, shifts are then alternated between day and night so you have more of the day to explore. The kitten Sushi is also so cute and will be missed. 🥰

Staying at the hostel was a great experience! The hostel itself is beautiful and peaceful, with lots of different areas to relax and enjoy the view of Samaipata. The tasks were easy and Bert is a good communicator, and will ask you to help out without feeling over-involved. He even provides free breakfast and buys most of the food for the volunteers. The hikes around Samaipata are incredible and there is almost always a group of people from the hostel that want to go. I would highly recommend staying/volunteering at this hostel.

En el hostal la pasamos muy bien, Bert es un muy buen anfitrión, siempre muy amable y atento. Siempre se respetaron los horarios y los acuerdos, en el hostal se siente siempre una energía muy alegre, nos sentimos en casa en el tiempo que estuvimos.
