La embajada bacalar
Freiwillige können Teil eines familiären Umfelds sein und auch Wissen mit anderen Kreativen austauschen. Hier sind einige Aktivitäten, die wir als Familie machen. Abendessen, Touren, Workshops. BBQs und mehr!
Unser Personal und ich sind alle kreativ und auch freundlich; wir lieben, was wir tun.
Wir tauschen wöchentlich Wissen über Familienzusammenkünfte aus, Popcorn, Filme und eine freundliche Umgebung.

Ich habe es wirklich genossen, mit den anderen Freiwilligen zusammenzuarbeiten, ich fühlte mich wie zu Hause, Landy und Erick waren sehr freundlich zu mir, Bacalar ist wunderschön, ich genieße es und ohne Zweifel würde ich zurückkehren.

Erick y Sergio son los mejores anfitriones, el nuevo cuarto de los voluntarios es mucho mejor. Como crítica constructiva falta un poco de organización con los horarios pero la verdad es que todo fue muy cómodo, el ambiente y la vibra es de lo mejor.

The hostel is a wonderful and relaxing hostel, perfect for recharging and enjoying the beautiful lagoon! The work is straightforward, and the tasks are easy to complete. They're in the process of reorganizing things, so it can get a little chaotic at times, but as long as you're flexible and communicate well, it's not a big issue. The leadership is super approachable and always ready to problem-solve with you. I felt really welcomed and taken care of here, and there are always fun activities happening. Bacalar itself has such an open and welcoming vibe, and I highly recommend this place!

Ended up extending 2 weeks :) If you value having chill work shifts and free time to wander around this is perfect for you! The atmosphere is great and the volunteers team really bonded. Also great location and a beautiful sunrise view to the lagoon Accommodation could be better: really small dorm, smells funky & just one shower for all, but could be worse haha Communication between managers should be improved in order to give clear instructions to volunteers (specially the new ones), and resources to motivate team work (e.g there is no formal commission system for selling tours and such)

First of all I want to say that bacalar is a beautiful place, the hostel was very well located!! 5-6 minutes from the centre and super close to the lagoona. The view from the hostel was beautiful:) This experience got frustrating for me tho. The hostel is not well organized at the moment, they were always overbooking problems +the system at the reception was chaotic. Often we didn't know what's going on because manager didn't communicate with us and we had to improvise all the time saying sorry to the guests. The owners Juliette and Sergio were so sweet tho and welcoming:)
