Refúgio Urbano

Ribeirão Pires is close to São Paulo, but the experience here feels like a different world: Atlantic Forest around you, a calm small-city rhythm, and a real community.

Refúgio Urbano is not “just a place to stay”. It’s a living space where you practice, meet locals, share meals, exchange culture, and build real bonds. Many volunteers describe it as “feels like home”.

If you want an experience with presence, not just accommodation — this is the right place.

Hi! I’m Luc — host, teacher, and the founder of Refúgio Urbano.

I run the space with a small support circle. We don’t have a big staff: this is intentionally human-sized, community-driven, and focused on practice and connection.

For 2026, we’re especially open to volunteers who can teach (yoga or body practices) and share their talent through classes and workshops — while living the Brazilian daily life with us (breakfast together + Sunday street market).

I really enjoyed my stay at the studio. Over the course of two weeks, I had the opportunity to teach several classes and lead a variety of activities, which made the experience very enriching. I was warmly welcomed by Luc and Andreza, as well as by all the students at the studio, who made me feel very welcome throughout my stay. It was a very positive experience, and I would highly recommend it!

Un très beau lieu pour faire un volontariat ! L'expérience de partager des moments avec Luc dans ses cours de yoga était vraiment incroayble. La tâche est assez légère, simplement s'occuper et de préparer et de nettoyer la salle. Le seul point à améliorer serait la communication. Comme nous sommes arrivés nous avons pas trop compris le fonctionnement du lieu et concernant la nourriture aussi. Mais sinon un endroit vraiment paisible et enrichissant.

Luc offers a very comfortable place where you can stay and relax, the experience with yoga classes is mean-full and people at the studio are friendly and welcoming. The city is safe to walk around the center and coffee shops, around Riberão Pires you can find beautiful places, like others cities as Paranapiacaba and nature. Thanks to the studio family.

Nous avons passé 5 jours chez Luc, nous avons pu assister aux cours de yoga et nous sommes occupés de préparer la salle. Luc a été accueillant et gentil. Dans la maison, nous avons rarement mangé ensemble mais chacun avait son espace et les hôtes ont été très respectueux. Luc aime beaucoup partager sa passion pour le yoga. El studio es un lugar muy especial, Luc a logrado crear una comunidad muy única y especial Que siempre voy a llevar en mi corazón Luc ofrece muchas comodidades en su casa y es un espacio súper cómodo y seguro Ribeirão Pires es un lugar muy bonito y seguro nunca me sentí insegura también muy cerca del tren que te puede llevar a São Paulo solo tomando un tren y un metro Luc es un hombre muy respetuoso y entusiastas acerca del yoga y el movimiento Y siempre te incluye en sus planes y está muy pendiente de ti Mi experiencia fue muy buena y recomiendo mucho y agradezco este espacio
