On site you have access to bicycles, fire pit for the evenings under the stars, hamac, mini football pitch, surfboards, music instruments , boards games and many more. You can learn a lot about natural building, exchange your knowledge about natural building, gardening, foraging. We will advise you of all the visits and walks in the stunning Sligo area. I often bring you along for walks or surf, as well as foraging mushrooms in the forest or seafood. Or for a pitch and put. There’s a bus station in Sligo that open your horizon to the north and west of Ireland with less than a 2h journey. Sligo has a lot to offer for the night life with amazing pubs and entertainments. We are happy to converse in different languages and can brighten you to local typical activities such as Gaelic football or rugby…
We have a good group of volunteers, we can accept up to 6 volunteers. We have received volunteers for the last 3 years ( over 100 friends now) and from a lot of différents cultures. The work could be hard sometimes as we are digging some good bit to get our soil for building but we are quite flexible with different task to offers from cobbling , natural plaster, working with lime or in the garden and the orchard. You will work Monday to Friday for 5h a day and your weekends are free. We are also flexible with the hours. Don’t be afraid to open up to your needs and problems and we ll find a solution to suit you best for work or life on site. We are buying all your food for 3 meals a week and as you have your own place ( fully equipped kitchen) you usually cook for your self, except when we do barbecue together. We provide you with clean bed sheets and towels and you have your own washing machine . It’s important to say, we are not middling in your mobile home. If the place is dirty, you will have to clean it. About us now, We are Sandra and Mathieu, she’s Irish and I’m French, I fell in love with her 16 years ago and also I fell for the beautiful Sligo County. We are building an eco friendly house, with cob, strawbale, and salvaged materials. Using the least grey energy possible. We started the cobbing in May, 2023 and offer activity around natural building material as well as creating a sustainable garden such as Hugel Kulture and permaculture for the last 3 years.we have 2 beautiful children and live on site beside you in our mobile home.
