I m truly grateful to the Serra da Estrela for welcoming me – such a beautiful place, with a river and trees – and even more so for the dogs: Megy, Fleur, Val, Simonao, Lince, Soleil, Nova, Tranquina, Pipo, Popoke, and the puppies. I carry them in my heart and in my prayers. I loved the dogs; they are incredible creatures—the most loving, noble, loyal and grateful dogs in the world. It was an important place for me because I will carry them in my heart, and I hope that many volunteers will spend time with the animals and have a wonderful stay in such a marvelous place—a paradise. Thanks Ana Pao

This was a true Worldpackers experience. Ana is an excellent host, warm, attentive, and full of stories to share. The work routine is very easy to handle most of the time is spent taking care of the dogs (who are very cute and friendly), plus a few tasks like tidying the rooms and helping with general house maintenance. Without a doubt, a great volunteering experience in terms of balance between volunteer hours and free time to explore the area. I had a wonderful experience, and I would definitely recommend this volunteering opportunity to anyone, with or without prior experience.

Sadly I had to leave me stay early, but I would recommend this place specifically to those who like nature. It is about 20 minute drive from town. But the river and views are very nice and peaceful. The dogs are wonderful and deserve all the love in the world, and they are so friendly to people!

Ana & paulo are welcoming, warm hosts, and the surrounding nature is truly breathtaking. however this experience required a good deal more patience than my previous experiences on worldpackers.
