Hostel Knot is a cozy, community-focused hostel in Shuzenji Onsen, a historic hot spring town surrounded by nature. More than sightseeing, you'll experience everyday life in rural Japan and become part of the local community. Our 4.8-star guest rating (300 reviews more) reflects the warmth of our team and volunteers. We're looking for friendly, reliable people who want to experience Japan as a local, not just as a traveler.

What can I say, couldn't have wished for a better first time Worldpackers experence. I felt integrated and from the day I arrived. I really had the feeling everybody did everything they could to make it a pleasent stay. Could always ask for help or tips about what to do. Also work was always clearly explained and there was no expectation that you have to know it all immediately. Definately want to come back and can recommend to anyone who wants to experence slower paced, rual life in Japan :)

My experience at the hostel was truly wonderful. Their kindness, understanding, and willingness to help with anything, along with the lovely atmosphere, were some of the things that made me really happy during my stay. The tasks we had to do were very simple and manageable for everyone. We also had many days off during the week, which gave me the opportunity to explore some really beautiful places. It was such a peaceful and memorable experience, and I'm very grateful to the hostel team for making it so special. A huge thank you to Ryohey, Jamie, and Haru! ❤️🙏🏻🫶🏻
