Tasks were very reasonable within the given hours, and nothing was too daunting, at least in the off-season when I was there. Staff was super reasonable if I needed a schedule change and in general very welcoming. The volunteers and workers would go out together either for drinks in the city or for hikes quite often, it's a great vibe. If you want to practice your French the earnest will be on you as all of the staff speak English & Spanish fluently, and volunteers tend to be native speakers of one of these languages.

My stay at the hostel in Bayonne was my first volunteering experience, and I have to say that I absolutely enjoyed it. The whole hostel team and all the other volunteers were so friendly and welcoming, and we shared so many wonderful moments together. The work and working hours are well organised too, and you have plenty of time to enjoy your free time and explore the area. My six-week stay flew by. Thank you so much for the wonderful experience :)
