If you want to really experience Leipzig, our Hostel is the right place for you. Clubs and Bars are really close to us and our staff can show you all of the hidden treasures our City has to offer. We are famous for our Zoo and even when you are short on money, you can see the animals from the park, directly next to it. We have tons of festivals in our area starting with our Wave Gotik Meet up, that Leipzig is famous for.
Our Staff is like a really big and weird family. We welcome everyone and all of us are excited to meet new people. We all come from different backgrounds, so don't be shy :). If you should ever have a problem, you can come to us at any time!

Volunteering at 5 elements was great, super centrally located and walkable to the train station. The hostel has more of a hotel feel with a lot of private rooms but all of the guests and staff are very nice. Scheduling is very flexible as well to get the days off you’d like to take trips on. Staying for a month really makes the other volunteers and city feel like home 💘

First of all I want to say I met some amazing people.
For sure the experience taught me to be adaptable: it’s not all puppy dogs and rainbows living with other 9 guys in the same bedroom, or having to share the bathroom and the kitchen with the guests.
The work it’s okay, I mostly enjoyed the social activities.
I had a lot of free time to study or to visit/travel. Leipzig is a little bit boring, especially when it rains (that happens a lot!).

Gaia is a great addition to your team! She is friendly and responsible. She helped with cleaning, housekeeping and hosting events for guests. She cooked dinners and also made crepes in the bar. I happily recommend Gaia to other hosts. Thanks Gaia!

My time at the Pink Flamingo was great! The volunteer manager Hannah, was extremely welcoming and helpful prior and during my whole stay. The work and responsibilities was as expected and working with the other volunteers is really what made it so fun! The breakfast is really good and the hostel is located in a great central location. Overall the entire staff is amazing and always available to help you. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone who wants to experience Leipzig!

5 elements is a great hostel to meet new people, the room is nice, the work is easy and the breakfast provided is really good. The location is in the middle of the city so it is really comfortable to walk around, I recommend the volunteer and hope to come back soon 💛

What I enjoyed most about my time at 5 elements was bonding with the other 9 volunteers. Everyone was so sweet and came from places all over the world. Hannah was very flexible with my hours and time off- however there was often more work than time scheduled which meant I often worked outside of my scheduled hours. Most of the staff was very friendly- however there are a few negative staff members who impacted the quality of my time at 5 elements. Overall, Leipzig was a cool city and had lots to see/do/ and eat.
