American English and Arts Academy of Shanghai
AEAA offers the traveller a respite from ... traveling; luxuriate in your own space, your own kitchen, take some time to feel settled, make some money, AND experience SHANGHAI!
We are about quality, not quantity. Everyone is different, everyone has something to offer - and we love that! We keep things fun and engage our kids so that they want to speak English - no flash cards, no strict memorization, no forcing. Dancing, acting, and arts instead. So come on out, join the fun, and enrich our world one conversation at a time!
Share your English, and life experiences; learn basic mandarin and Chinese culture from us and the Chinese kids! Like food? So do we! Share your culinary creations, experience authentic Shanghainese food, and soak up the rich offerings of this ancient, modern city in real time as you go!
(To see our center working in real time look for us on Facebook : The American English and Art Academy of Shanghai )
My name is Molly, I am American and my husband, Daniel, is Shanghainese. We have a five year old son of our own, and an English language center full of 3-8 year olds. Like food? So do we! Share your culinary creations, experience authentic Shanghainese food!
We have fully furnished, modern, two-bedroom apartments prepared for our work team, so you can expect private space and a private room! The apartments are a short walk from the school, the grocery, and the metro.
No need to speak any Chinese, or have prior teaching experience (although it's definitely a plus if you do!). Lesson plans, training, and lots of support will be provided - just bring a smile and new energy to our after-school setting! (***Long term positions require a bachelors degree.)
