Cast Away Hvar is a unique & magical off-the-grid place in the middle of nature on top of 2 beautiful beaches. Close to a small village where you can experience the real Dalmatian lifestyle Our very modest home is situated in the small settlement of Gromin Dolac in the south of the island of Hvar. We are situated at the end of a 4km rocky, bumpy road and at the end you still need to walk 100m towards the beach to reach our place. We live right on top of two beautiful beaches.

We are located in the middle of nature in the south of the island of Hvar, close to a tiny old village. About 1h by car from Hvar city and 30 minutes from the cosy town of Jelsa. Hvar is one of Croatia's most beautiful islands and is a very popular destination for travellers from all over the world throughout the summer season.
Surrounded by nature & exquisit sea views, we offer you a place to relax, away from the touristic hustle! Reconnect with nature & discover the hidden gems of beautiful Hvar!
We provide free transport to Jelsa, Hvar, etc with our 9-seater shuttle bus after the working hours to spend some good times, enjoy a nice meal or just hang out.
It's truly a hidden gem surrounded by nature & extraordinary sea views, situated in the middle of nature. But that means also... No internet, poor cellular network, no city water (only rainwater), no electricity (only by solar panels & generator), basic outside shower with rainwater, basic outside toilet flushed by rainwater in bucket, fridge on gas, cooker on gas, heater on gas.
Our place has only 2 rooms and our land is about 10 acres. Downstairs you have the common room of 6x5 with basic kitchen + cooker & fridge on gas, table, lockers and some cupboards. There's also a small storage room under the stairs.
On the first floor you have also a room of 6mx5m with cooker on gas, fridge on gas, a table, a cupboard and a double bed but this is our private area.
Both levels come with a terrace with amazing views on the Adriatic and the islands Korcula, Vis, Peljesac and Scedro. On the first floor you have also a terrace in the back with view on the mountain.
Our place is 10 minutes away from Zavala, 25 minutes away from Jelsa, 35 minutes away from Starigrad and 50 minutes away from Hvar town. This is with the car.

This month that we share in Cast Away with Didier, I will always carry him in my heart. Incredible, magical place where I can feel very at peace and enjoy where I work at the same time. Didier is a super friendly, calm, respectful person.
He opened the doors of his home for us and made us feel comfortable. He was patient with my English, which I have been putting into it to improve. The tasks to be carried out are simple and it becomes bearable day by day.
I recommend doing this 100%, it really has been the best. If you like nature and being close to the sea, this is a place in paradise.

The Cast Away experience was wonderful. The place is a true paradise, where you can connect with nature, have a good time, have fun and rest. The tasks get along super well are entertaining and varied. Didier is a super nice, attentive and friendly person, who made us feel truly at home at all times. During our stay we were able to share very valuable moments with him and with his family and friends. The interaction with the guests was also extremely valuable. We highly recommend this experience, we will always carry it in our hearts.

Llegué a Cast Away en temporada baja por lo que me tocó convivir con pocas personas, pero el lugar es muy bonito y me recibieron muy bien.
Didier es amable, el trabajo aquí es tranquilo, hay bastante trabajo pero se respeta el horario y los días de descanso.
Mi estancia aquí ha sido muy linda y lo recomiendo a otros viajeros.

I decided to apply to work at Cast Away only a few days before it happened. Didier, the host, was very kind and replied to me really fast, and 3 days later I was arriving in this amazing place without any expectations of what could happen there. I ended up deciding to stay even longer than we arranged because the place is a true gem: amazing nature, cool guests, and a cool team - I made really good friends there. The job was also fine, not super hard, and ended up being really fun to make drinks every day during the sunset. I highly recommend cast away <3 thanks for everything, boss!
