Chillout Hostel

As a former volunteer I can assure you that you will have one of the best experiences of your life, you will meet people who will be your friends forever and you will fall in love with Zagreb and its people.
In Chillout we are a family that likes to have fun, sing, dance, cook and why not? Have a drink together.

I am a 29-year-old Mexican who has traveled for 3 years before starting to work in Zagreb. I enjoy having fun and working at the same time, listening to people, and trying to help them in any way I can. I also like to drink beer and enjoy my life. A significant portion of the staff in the hostel have been volunteers at some point. That is why we understand what it means to travel without a defined plan. In our team, no matter what your position, nationality, mother tongue, etc., is, we treat everyone with absolute respect. I assure you that you will feel like a member of the family from the moment you arrive :D

Excelente experiencia, considero que es el mejor Hostel en todo Zagreb. Las tares son super sencillas y variables según el horario semanal, el equipo es muy amable y te ayudan en todo. Efrain es una super persona, nos ayudo y recibió desde el momento que llegamos y nos hizo sentir como en casa, la alimentación deliciosa. Volvería a regresar al Chillout !!

I spent a month at the chillout hostel. Efrein is really nice and welcoming. It was my fist time volunteering, and this was the perfect place. You meet many other volunteers and the work is not hard! Thanks to the flexible schedule i got to visit the cost and it was amazing!

Hacer mi voluntariado en Chillout fue increíble, lo súper recomiendo. Desde que llegamos Efraín y todas las personas del staff nos hicieron sentir en casa, respetaron los horarios y la comida fue increíble. Los voluntarios 1000/10, hicieron que la estadio sea súper divertida con un intercambio cultural increíble. Regresaría sin dudas ✌🏻

I had a ton of fun! Efrain is an amazing guy and will always make sure that you're doing well :)
The other volunteers and employees are amazing people and you'll always have something to laugh about.
The main language in all parts of the hostel is Spanish!!!! so if you don't know any Spanish it's a bit difficult... especially in housekeeping.
The schedule and hours were always respected and I never had to work more than I was supposed to.

Unfortunately, I didn't have the best experience at ChillOut Hostel. Upon arrival, I was shown to my room which was in a filthy state. It was messy, very dirty, and not at all what I expected. After seeing the situation, I ended up talking with the host, who interviewed me, and he suggested I stay in the other room of volunteers so I did. Although this other room wasn't in such bad conditions, I felt very discouraged to go through with the experience so I decided to leave and not volunteer. I informed the host of my decision by sending a message which I never got an answer to.
