As a former volunteer I can assure you that you will have one of the best experiences of your life, you will meet people who will be your friends forever and you will fall in love with Zagreb and its people.
In Chillout we are a family that likes to have fun, sing, dance, cook and why not? Have a drink together.
I am a 29-year-old Mexican who has traveled for 3 years before starting to work in Zagreb. I enjoy having fun and working at the same time, listening to people, and trying to help them in any way I can. I also like to drink beer and enjoy my life. A significant portion of the staff in the hostel have been volunteers at some point. That is why we understand what it means to travel without a defined plan. In our team, no matter what your position, nationality, mother tongue, etc., is, we treat everyone with absolute respect. I assure you that you will feel like a member of the family from the moment you arrive :D

I had an amazing time at the chillout hostel, the work is kind of busy but you will get used to it because they provide lots of things in exchange for the work you do and most important thing is that they care about their volunteers so anything you need you will have :) I made some lifelong friends, it was very fun, thank you everyone that contributed to my experience 🫶🏻

I enjoyed the experience at Chillout hostel because I had the chance to be surrounded by incredible volunteers and very welcoming staff.
However, the food we were given was always fried and unhealthy and on top of that, the kitchen hasn’t been available this month so we couldn’t cook. Besides, you’ll be sharing a room and one bathroom with 8 people and you’ll get the schedule on Sunday evening which prevent you from organizing your week.
Despite that, it’s a great place to party for some weeks and if you’re as lucky as I was, you’ll meet incredible people.

It was a very good experience because the group of volunteers and some of the staff members were really nice and friendly.On the other hand, the kitchen was under construction and therefore we couldn't use it for 3 weeks and sometimes I had to buy my own food. Also the menus could have been better (as I am a vegetarian, I could not choose my menus, but the others who were not vegetarian could) and sometimes we had the weekly timetable on a really late Sunday, so there was little time to plan things and get organised. However, there was a lot of partying and it is a good experience for a month!

I had so much fun and met some fantastic people! I highly recommend for anyone looking to travel. It was a great first volunteering experience! The work was reasonable and as agreed. I’ll never forget it! Thanks Efraín!

If you are looking for a party Hostel, this is definitely the place. I had such a great time with the staff and other volunteers. I think most of the time, both rooms or 8 were filled. Therefore it was always easy to go out and party or just relax. Really the only negative thing I can say is that while I was there, they were renovating, so we didn't have a kitchen. Because of this, we were completely reliant on what was made for us. This is okay, but it lacked nutrition. It gets tiring eating fries and chicken everyday. It's alright though because the people really make up for it.
