The value and impact within our volunteer program for a volunteer can come in the form of meshing human connection and merging cultures. We often times have over 25+ countries represented in camp, and we encourage all to share their culture, passions, and talents with one another via workshops/classes.
That purpose, while rooted in that human connection, is layered with an emphasis on self-sustainability, an eco-conscious approach, embracing cultural exchange, exploration, adventure, and an active lifestyle.
Volunteers can expect to be treated with open arms. Social barriers and judgement are non-existent within the camp and staff, and a volunteer can simply be themselves while being surrounded by others who are doing the same.

Dreamsea was such an incredible Worldpackers experience! It really has the vibe of solo travel hostel and adult summer camp combined. The work was simple and quick and the people were amazing - definitely the kind of experience that draws in fun, kind, and curious humans who want a community experience. If you're on the fence, go!!

Such an incredible experience! The vibe was living in a college campus with no homework or classes. My favorite part was getting to know all the people. You meet people from all over the world and they quickly become life long friends. Also, and obviously, I learned how to surf which was super cool!! The lessons really helped me and although I’m no pro I’m confident enough to ride some waves. The food by the chef was amazing, the dogs are adorable, the job is so quick & easy, and the town is a dream. I miss tamarindo and dream sea. Just go. You won’t regret it, trust me.

I had a very love-hate relationship with my experience here. It can be very hard for introverts or people that value time to themselves. If you go into it thinking of it as a pimped-out-camping experience, you will get along just fine. It is BUGGY, the accommodation is VERY basic, there's no hot water, and you probably won't ever feel clean while there. Dreamsea is, however, REALLY good at what it's supposed to be good for which is making friends from all over the world to travel onwards with and providing a great experience for first-time travelers. Es una experiencia bastante enriquecedora, ya que a diferencia de otros voluntariados, puedes conocer a personas de todo el mundo, te da más posibilidades de socializar, hacer actividades y conocer. Las tareas que te hacen realizar son bastante cortas, te da muchisimo tiempo para poder conocer. Es super flexible te dejan irte por unos días si es que quieres conocer otros lugares de Costa Rica.
Lo único que al ir a este lugar no tendrás muchos momentos para poder estar solo y tienes que estar familiarizado con la vida de camping, los vichos y el agua fría.
