Friends of literacy Tanzania

We are a non-profit making organization based in Lushoto in the beautiful Usambara Mountains. We aim at tackling the adverse challenges of education within our communities in different parts of Tanzania by minimizing the level of illiteracy in children by addressing and pioneering the book reading tradition to children and youths from the age of 3 years to 20 years old.

We Friends of Literacy Tanzania we can offer you language classes in Swahili to help you to empower yourself for daily communication with locals. You can be part of our cultural workshops teaching you traditional handcrafts like basketry, weaving, coconut carving etc., but also drumming and cooking local dishes.
