Goodbye Lenin Hostel Zakopane

Looking for a place to escape the city, reconnect with nature and hike your ass off? Look no further!
Hidden away in the forest, yet still very accessible, there’s a magical place called Good Bye Lenin.
The main hostel is a beautiful cabin build in 1909. It’s cosy living room with free breakfast makes for the perfect place to start the day. And what better way to end an adventure filled day than with a cold beer and some delicious food from our BBQ.
Our hostel is in the middle of nature, yet the nearest bus into town (and to the Morski Oko lake), mini market and entry to the national park are just a 5 minute walk away.
Hiking, climbing, mountain biking... you name it, lots of adventure sports are possible here.
Sometimes, however, it is time to relax. Mao (the hostel cat) needs cuddling and Majka (the hostel goat) is always up for a deep conversation. Reenergize for the next day of endless fun.

I am really honored to have this possibility to ask such great people like backpackers to help me. We had many volunteers working with us and until now everybody was really happy. The first 4 years of running the hostel I lived with volunteers in the same room so many of them became my friend and we are still in touch. Lots of them are coming back...Right now there are 2 people helping me, that are already 3th time over the last 3 years and are staying for mounts. I think this is because the love the place :) And about myself... I run the hostel since 5 years, before I was addicted traveler myself, now I turned more into the outdoor sports, I love climbing, ski-mountaineering, horseriding. And since 8 months I am a happy mummy of my little baby boy Andrzej. Dont hesitate to join our GBL family :)

GBL made me realise that I can call more than one places home :) and this home was full of unique people, beautiful sunsets, hikings in colorful paths in forests and lakes, movie nights and moments that I wish I could live again (and again and again).
This month was one of the most beautiful months of my life. 😊

GBL was an amazing place to constantly get in touch with nature as is so close to the national park and the start point of so many hiking trails, it was also great to meet some other international travelers and learn different things from them.
The tasks were very easy and we had so much free time to spend in the Tatras and chilling. The hostel has a different activity every night so it was a great opportunity to socialize with the guests and enjoy the evenings at home.
Thank you so much for this month, k would definitely go back if I had the chance 🩷

The experience was really nice. Because of personal stuff I couldn't really enjoyed to the fullest. You can hike, you work a bit and help out, you will have some nice movie evenings or quiz nights. Sometimes or often it can be really full in the hostel, it's a small cozy hostel. So if you want some privacy there will be not always options. But then, days will come where there are not guests at all and there are just volunteers. It's possible. And It's a great chance to be in nature and connect with yourself. Taje the chance, it's definitely worth it

This experience was a great one! Goodbye Lenin is a place where you can disconnect and enjoy nature while discovering a beautiful country.
Marzena is a great host, always available to help everyone who needs it.
If you look for a quiet place where you can have more time for yourself, while you get to know the beauty of the Trata Mountains, this is your best option.
And also you'll have the pleasure of meeting the hostel pets, Mia, Mao and Majka!:)

It was such a great experience that I had to extend my stay! GBL feels like home, the house is a little bit far away from the city but there is always buses or you can take a walk to there, and if you cross the street you're already in the national park with great hikes, the location allows you to have peace and contact with nature.
Margena is an amazing host, she is super understandable and try to make you comfortable and well, the shift are well limited and agreed every week, and there is a tematic night every day!
Is a great place to meet people and see wonderful views. I'm coming back fs!
