Herrgård de Luxe
Staying in Osaby means living with the nature. The scenery is amazing with several hiking trails in the surrounding nature reserve. Still you will live in a very social place made for meetings with interresting people. You will be part of starting up a unique and open minded social venue, and have the chance to make your own personal footprint. Artistic expressions welcome!
We treat our volonteers as family. Still we value moments of privacy for both ourselves and our volonteers. We attempt to live with the nature by sorting our waste, eating mainly vegetarian and ecological food, and minimizing consumption. We re-use old building materials in innovative ways to make this historic place grow in an organic way. Please bare in mind that we have so much to do at the mansion and in the real life in general so we are slow at answering messages such as applications on Worldpackers. Please give us a few days to answer - or if it's urgent look up our phone number and give us a call.

My time at Nils and Helle's place was amazing! Even though it was a quiet time, I got to do fun things like cleaning, painting, gardening and setting up for parties and gatherings. Nils and Helen were always so kind and made sure we had everything we needed, from food to rides to the city for our little trips during the days off. I had a great time practicing my English, learning new skills and learning about Swedish traditions. The whole family and the other volunteers made me feel right at home. I'd recommend this experience to anyone! Thanks a lot for making my stay so memorable!

Couldn't have asked for a better volunteer experience than the one I had at Herrgård de luxe! Helle and Nils are the kindest hosts. They truly care about the wellbeing of their volunteers. They catered for my vegan needs, gave me rides to town on weekends, and always asked me if I had everything I needed to feel at home. Since it was off season, I mostly helped with cleaning and gardening, but the hotel opened on Easter, and it was beautiful to see the place alive with guests. I learned some new skills such as wood polishing, and did some painting too. Would recommend it in a heartbeat.

We just have to thank Neils and Helle, they are very special people. The hosts are always concerned and seek the best for the volunteer. We spent our birthday with them and it was very special. The children are too cute and Neils' family welcomed us as if we were part of them. The working hours are respectful and the cleaning work is easy, but outdoor work is a challenge, but they have always been patient with us. We loved living the days we spent in Osaby!

It was our first Worldpackers and it couldn’t be better! Nils and Helle are amazing people who live a nice life in Osaby! Since Växjo is 20 minutes from there we stayed almost all the time in the hostel but we had amazing experiences in the city! We won birthdays gifts that meant the world to us and made us feel so welcome and cared! It was our first birthday away from home so it really was something special!
The working hours are always respected, the cleaning job is easy. For us outside job was challenging but they were always patient and kind with us! We’ll miss our hostel so much!!

Nils & Helen are amazing hosts who pay close attention to volunteers' well-being. The mansion was closed since it was off season, so my task mainly consists of clearing up storage and garden area. It was quite physical but Nils always makes sure we have safe gears before any task. Helen cooks really well and I miss the peace and quiet there. Overall it was a great experience!
