Staying in Osaby means living with the nature. The scenery is amazing with several hiking trails in the surrounding nature reserve. Still you will live in a very social place made for meetings with interresting people. You will be part of starting up a unique and open minded social venue, and have the chance to make your own personal footprint. Artistic expressions welcome!
We treat our volonteers as family. Still we value moments of privacy for both ourselves and our volonteers. We attempt to live with the nature by sorting our waste, eating mainly vegetarian and ecological food, and minimizing consumption. We re-use old building materials in innovative ways to make this historic place grow in an organic way. Please bare in mind that we have so much to do at the mansion and in the real life in general so we are slow at answering messages such as applications on Worldpackers. The place really is incredible!!!
Nils and his family are really cool! In this experience, I learned several tasks that I will carry with me for life, the work was easy, we had all our meals, and at the end of the day we enjoyed kayak on the lake in front or bicycle.
On the weekends, we went to the center of Vaxjo or nearby cities and it was wonderful!

I spent 2 weeks here. We helped renovating the mansion, did some cleaning works when guests visited the hostel and hotel. Also we lived in the hostel rooms which were clean, cozy and quiet.
The hosts Nils and Helle are very friendly and other volunteers too. On weekends we went to Växjö for dancing and music performance in Kafe De Luxe. Nils and Helle also invited us to dinner in town and showed us some secret spots in Växjö. Very secret and cool to go there! Also, grandma’s cooking was amazing! I like masticating by the lake and stargazing at night.

The hosts are calm and kind, the place is very beautiful and calm. The tasks to be done were also very easy.
The only thing that could change would be a fixed time for lunch and dinner, as I and other volunteers were often lost when we were going to eat as it was beyond normal meal times.
One of the incredible things was that they lent the car a few times so we could go downtown on the weekends and have fun at the club in their restaurant.
It was a nice experience and I'm happy for the people I met there.
