Jo and Steve's Home

We're a middle aged English speaking couple creating a special environment here. Gardening, art and making everyone feel happy is what motivates us.

We have a beautiful home in a very peaceful and idyllic setting that we share with our friendly dogs and cats. You'll have your own lovely room and a bathroom, use of our living areas, access to an art studio and, if its warm enough, use of our pool.

If you are looking for a quiet haven in a beautiful setting the Moulin is for you!

You'll be treated as our guest - in return for some manual help around the garden, orchard and house. We will treat you with trust, respect and humour - and we'll make sure that you get to see the stunning area in which we live whilst you're with us. We see this as an exchange - your labour for our hospitality. We are generous hosts and would be upset if our volunteers felt shortchanged both in the food they eat, their accommodation and the experience. In return we ask that you be motivated during your hours, are enthusiastic, smiling and engage with us. We enjoy having volunteers in our home for several reasons and not only for the tasks that you do - although that is important too. Having a volunteer is motivating - it makes us tackle some of the tasks that maybe we have been putting off. We get a buzz from seeing the progress on our home and gardens, and from seeing this beautiful place through someone else's eyes. And with our children leading their own lives we miss the connection to current culture and love hearing about it through our volunteers.

Jo and Steve were wonderful hosts that were extremely accommodating and made my first worldpacker experience unforgettable and the best I could ask for. The work was various, and some days it was hard and some days easy. I learned so much about gardening, composting, living sustainably, quiet rural farm life, landscaping, and how to use many farm tools. I would hope any Worldpackers reading this dont get the idea that it will be easy--as long as you work hard, have ambition, and have regard for others and their things, this will be for you like it was for me--the best I could ask for.

Jo and Steve are nice hosts, they shared their house and their lifestyle with me. Jo taught me a lot about permaculture and gardening. Steve took me hiking and kayaking. Their house is beautiful, they are great cooks and they have 2 awesome dogs and 1 cat. I recommend this experience if you want to improve your English, learn about gardening and you enjoy spending time in nature and in a quiet environment!

Jo and Steve were so lovely to me. I really enjoyed the time that I spent with them. The job wasn't so light, because it's summer time and there's a lot of things to do. But Jo and Steve always respected my working hours and were always trying to make sure that I was enjoying the job and learning from it. It's not that easy to go to other places around, because the house is far away, but Jo and Steve took me to a lot of different places and cities. I had a really nice cultural experience, with live concerts and art galleries. And the food was really good! It's a real luck to be chosen by them

This was one of the best expiriences I had in my life! Jo and steve are really nice persons with a HUGE heart. They are a lovely couple and is really nice to hang out with them. The job is really cool and you will learn a lot about gardening, the work can be little hard sometimes but they won't give you any task you can't handle. They make so much efford to make volunteers feel good and comfortable... They will take you out to explore places, give you a great bedroom to stay, good food (really good food) and you will learn a lot about sustentabilty, wich is great!!!

Thank you for such a lovely review, Lucas. We enjoyed having you to stay and your enthusiasm and energy. Thank you, both, for all the hard work you put into the two weeks - it wasn't the most enjoyable weather for WPS! But neither of you ever complained. Let us know how you get on with your next adventure.

We're looking forward to seeing your video and seeing you become an international social media sensation!

I am sad that i can give only 5 stars in this feedback, because Jo and Steve deserve the whole sky!!! Everything good that you read on the comments bellow are totally true. If there is any bad comment, the person who did it must be tripping so hard... If you ever get chosen by Jo and Steve, feel HONORED. Seriously. Also, i would give my little toe from my left foot to eat Jo's food one more time.

Oh goodness! I just filled up! You are so kind! I'm just sorry that the weather was so awful - it kind of put a bit of a dampner on our projects! But you did the very best job at potting up and, at the last count, I have 180 tomato seedlings!!! They just keep popping up - what did you feed them!!!!?

Keep in touch, Lorelay, and don't forget to use the talent that you have for art. And next time - teach me how to do the Foster the People dance!
Lots of love xx
