Loon's Landing Resort

Because we are located on a private lake and surrounded by nature, the volunteers will have the opportunity to observe the abundance of wildlife during his or her time here.

My husband and I are easy-going people. We have one college son who returns during the summer months to help out with the boat and motor rentals. The three of us are the main people who take care of the operation here at the resort, and we would love to add a volunteer or a volunteer couple who would like to explore this area. Volunteer(s) will be staying onsite with us at the main house. During volunteer's off time, you are free to come and go and take short trips around the area during your days off or take our canoe and spend time on the lake fishing if you like. The main house has a large deck with a view of the lake where you can sit and hang out. We also have a private pier and fire pit area if volunteers want to be closer to the lake. There are also plenty of state parks nearby to explore during your stay.

I had such an amazing 7 weeks at Loons Landing with Diane and her wonderful family! It was my first work exchange experience and I was instantly happy that I chose it to be my first. Diane is such a wonderful host and makes sure that all of your needs are met and is also very organized when it comes to scheduling! Can't say enough amazing things about my experience and I was sad to leave!

Kiera is a fast learner which made our job so much easier. She is also dependable, friendly, trustworthy, and open to trying new things. We were so lucky to have her for 7 weeks.

It’s was all around lovely, I couldn’t have asked for a better first work exchange experience!

Diane, Walter and Erik are wonderful people, they always made me feel comfortable and welcomed.

I went on day trips, boating, hiking, biking, kayaking and got to try delicious food.

Watching the sunset will take your breath away!

The work was alway more than reasonable,
I did cabin cleaning, landscaping and some odd jobs.

I would recommend this to anyone who wants to enjoy nature and take awesome photos!

Kara is a very kind, considerate, and an overall a sweet person. She worked well with others and always make sure she did her share of the work. She was definitely a team player, and never left another volunteer with all the work load. I would definitely recommend her.

Loon's Landing es un lugar hermoso con atardeceres increíbles.
Mi estancia aquí fue de un mes y unos días más y fue justo lo que necesitaba, las cabañas son un lugar tranquilo que si te gusta la naturaleza lo disfrutaras mucho. Las tareas son simples y fáciles de realizar por lo cual contarás con mucho tiempo libre para salir a caminar, andar en bici o utilizar el Kayak en el lago.
Diane es una persona muy abierta que siempre tiene temas interesantes de que hablar, realmente se preocupan porque estés bien y cómodo durante tu estancia.
Definitivamente lo recomiendo y gracias por todo :)

We got to enjoy Denny’s kindness and sweetness during her time with us. You would be lucky to have her if she comes your way as she is detailed in her work. You never have to worry if she completes her assignments that you have given her.

My experience at Loon’s landing was nothing but exceptional. Diane and Walter have been extremely welcoming and kind to me from day one. I was able to connect with nature, take the kayak on the lake and go for long walks. The work was not bad at all, we did a bit of landscaping work, cleaned the cabins and bookkeeping. I would absolutely recommend!!

Laura literally was Walter's left hand woman! Laura was tasked with helping with the opening of the rental season prepped work which means lots of landscaping and spring cleaning. She did lots of labor intensive tasks with no complaints. Wonderful young lady that became part of our family while she was here.

I had an time at Loon’s Landing. Diane and Walter are pretty welcoming, always make you feel like home, having chats with them is enriching.

The work is simple, Diane is organized and methodic and will make things way easier for you.

The food was great, every Saturday we went out and eat, we made food from different places around the world, if you want to, you can cook and is fun.

I will highly recommend this place if you wanna get in touch with nature and with yourself, you’ll have bunch of time to enjoy the lake, walk around and do some inner work. So relaxing…

Ana gets along well with others and is always willing to help someone out. She’s also very self aware and spiritually very deep for such a young person! If you need someone to help out at your organization, you can count on Ana but you’ll get so much more than just a worker. You’ll get someone who is thoughtful and kind.
