We are within walking distance of some of the most beautiful beaches in Puerto Rico including Condado and Ocean Park, good snorkeling in the Condado Laguna, the best nightlife in La Placita Santurce, as well as various bars, museums, stores, restaurants, and more. (San Juan - Puerto Rico - Caribbean) 2: FREE FULL BREAKFAST: We serve a great complimentary full breakfast every morning from 8 AM to 10 AM, it includes fresh waffles, multi-grain toast, hard-boiled eggs, and coffee, tea, and all the spreads and condiments. As hosts, we treat our co-builders as our guests, so they are provided the same great breakfast as our guests. 3: EXCLUSIVE LUXURY BUNKS: We import deluxe memory foam mattresses from the mainland, combined with our high-quality super-soft microfiber sheets make for a great night's sleep. I have volunteered at 6 different hostels for a total of 9 months worth of traveling and, unfortunately, this is the first time I encountered a negative hostel experience. It all began when Charles talked badly about other hostels & even sent me screenshots of their bad reviews and asked me to volunteer a month early. Then, finding out I was going to work a total of 32 hours some weeks (including my first week), subtracting money out of my paycheck for an error I did in housekeeping (with no warning), & spamming my phone on Worldpackers, WhatsApp, & telegram at 2:00 am, very unprofessional!

We love hosting co-hosts! As you can see from our many positive reviews, co-hosts enjoy working with us too. Unfortunately, this co-host was difficult and unwilling to follow our simple systems, thereby repeatedly causing others to correct and redo his work. We do provide performance tips, in addition to accommodations, to thank our folks and reinforce good performance. Allan was given feedback repeatedly. He failed to work with our systems and caused other co-hosts and managers frustration and additional work, until he was finally asked to leave. Our weekly shifts are 3 x 8 hours per week, which is 24 hours (Not 32 hours).

This was my first worldpackers experience, and I loved it! It was incredible to meet amazing people everyday and explore San Juan and at times the island. My group of co-hosts and the hosts were amazing and truly made it feel like home. The tasks are rather simple, but it can be very busy and at times a bit overwhelming especially in the busy season. This has been life changing for me and I can definitely recommend it to everyone :)

I had a wonderful time volunteering at Mango Mansion. For me it was the first time volunteering at a hostel and I didn't know what to expect but everything was perfect and exceeded my expectations. I had a lovely team of co-hosts around me, had so much fun with the other guests and also the pets made it feel like a real home. The work is pretty easy, there is a lot of time for the tasks you need to do. It is very nice that you work in shifts of 8 hours, as this gives you a lot of free time during the week to explore the island. The hostel itself is conveniently located, everything is nearby!

Volunteering at Mango Mansion is an incredible experience. Work expectations are very clear and the social environment is amazing. I met many incredible people and built close friendships with many of the other staff members that I have kept up with. There are inevitable challenges when you stick 6 adults in a shared room for a month or more, but it is a learning experience and challenges you to communicate clearly . I 100% recommend this experience for anyone looking to grow their social skills, build meaningful connections, and experience intimately Puerto Rican culture.
