My name is Miri and I have recently opened a Hostel in the Gorica neighborhood of Berat. Previously, our building operated as a hotel, but we think our space is perfect for socialising, lounging and relaxing, so we hope it will work really well as a hostel :) Our Hostel is a family run business. My father helps out with gardening and general maintenance, and my mother provides home baked breads and bureks as well as free range eggs for breakfast. I have worked in other hostels and with volunteers for years which I have previously managed, so I really appreciate what volunteers can provide and am looking forward to meeting new people.
Our hostel is located in the heart of the Gorica neighborhood of Berat, Albania. Known as the "Town of a Thousand Windows" and as the "Museum City," Berat is a designated UNESCO World Heritage site, as well as the ninth-largest city in Albania. Located near the base of beautiful Mt. Tomorri, Berat has become one of the most visited tourist attractions in Albania.
Volunteers will be required to help as needed with reception, check-in/check out, general concierge, light cleaning and housekeeping. Of course, we may need you to help with other jobs so we need people to be willing and helpful. Being social and willing to hang out and converse with guests from around the world will be a crucial aspect of this position. We want volunteers to help provide a great experience for our guests!
In their free time, volunteers will have the opportunity to discover the city of Berat, including visiting the famous Castle and exploring the old-town Mangalem and Gorica neighborhoods. Volunteers will also have an opportunity to take tours of the region and interact with guests from around the world. Once volunteers learn the region, they will have an opportunity to run/launch tours such as rafting in Corovoda, exploring the waterfalls of Bogove, and hiking nearby mountains and hiking trails. Volunteers with have the opportunity to keep any tips they may earn.
