Nava Indradhanush English Borading School

Nava Indradhanush English Boarding school was founded in 1995 with only 15 students. Currently, we provide education to almost 150 students between 4 and 14 years old. No matter where the kids are from or which status their parents have, everyone should have a chance of receiving good education. The school is also home for 15 children whose parents are not able to take care of them.
But after everything that has already been achieved, we do not stop dreaming. We want every kid in Nepal to have a chance at a better life. This starts with a good education.
If you want to experience the real side of volunteering, making a change in the children's life, trying Nepali food, staying at my family's house, exchanging cultures and more, this is the place for you!

In my school, we need volunteers all year round to support teaching different subjects (English, maths, science, arts, sports, etc., improving the teaching skills of the staff, creating new material, organizing, activities, updating our blog, building new facilities, etc. We ask volunteers to pay a small sum of 5 US dollars a day to stay here. This cost includes three meals (mostly Dal Bhat and mainly vegetarian) boiled/filtered water, cold shower and WiFi. Please note that the served food is basic, however you are able to stock up on extra items at the local stores and small local eateries a short walk from the house.

Mr. Robin, his wife and son are doing something incredible. Their life moto is to give these kids the best possible life and education in whatever way possible. I’ve not met anyone so selfless and passionate about social work.
I can’t even begin to tell how wonderful these kids are. They are full of life, smart and deserve the best of everything in life.
This organisation really needs help and I would encourage everyone to to experience this home away from home and help them in anyway possible. They deserve it. I miss all of them a lot! I also met some very amazing fellow volunteers.

My time at Nava Indradhanush school was amazing. It was my first time volunteering and definitely one of the best things I have ever done. The children are so smart and interested in everything you teach them.
Robin and his wife take good care of you!

Nava was such an inspiring place. Robin and his family are incredible people and they dedicate their lives to helping the children at the school. They are so kind and considerate and grateful for any help you can give. I loved teaching the children, they were so motivated to learn and such rays of sunshines. You do have to have lesson material prepped beforehand, but you have free rein over what you teach. You live in the school with the other children who do not have anywhere else to go, it is such an incredible experience. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone!

The experience was incredible. I learned a lot from the children and from Rabin and his family. The tasks involved entertaining the children during the holidays and teaching computing. The activities went from 9:00 to 13:00 and we ate breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is no need to bring bed linen or pillows, but you do need to bring your towel. Any help is welcome when volunteering and the children are wonderful and super dedicated to learning. Rabin is a sweetheart who does everything for the good of children.

It was an awsome experience. Rabin and his wife are fantastic human beings. The kids are so sweet and happy that it is impossible not being attached to them. It broke my heart having to say goodbye. It was my first time as a volunteer and I was so lucky and I learned so much with the experience.
