Oasis in the heart of Victoria

My home is a 10 minute walk from downtown in a gorgeous area plus I have bikes. Victoria is one of the top ten cities in the world to visit and my place is located in the best neighbourhood in the city, I have guests from all over the world and we do daily cleans or what I call turnovers. Easy work with a maximum of 4 hours per day. i provide sleeping accommodations in a Westfalia campervan and basic food supplies. I have worked with workaways for over 9 years and everyone has loved it here. I do have two Havanese pups and a number of kitties so you must love animals. I do not smoke or drink and prefer people that have a healthy lifestyle. Also I much prefer people that can stay for at least two months as there is a learning curve with the job and it just works better with being trained.

I have owned my home for 43 years and I am an avid traveler. I flew with my two Havanese pups to Europe in January and wild camped in a campervan for over 3 months. I treat my staff extremely well as I know what it is like to be on the road in a strange place and how I would expect to be treated if I was doing this kind of job.

i really enjoyed my time with dianne in victoria. her place is beautiful and had plenty of amenities. it was also in a great location that made exploring the lovely city of victoria super easy!
the work was fair, and not very difficult, though there are no real set hours of work, but that didn’t really bother me much.
dianne made me feel very welcome and i enjoyed hearing the stories she shared of her life and the travel tips she had for me.
i was able to meet lots of people by volunteering here, and was a great learning experience tackling tasks that were new to me!

My previous review was deleted due to ‘accusations’, aka detailing horrific events that I experienced, so I’ll rewrite in ‘I statements’…
I think Dianne needs to work on interpersonal skills, because it is not nice to tell people they are unwanted and useless, and understanding the importance of fixed hours and time off. I felt sad after myself and two others were evicted overnight– alone, 6 weeks early, without anywhere to go– because she had too many staff. I suggest Dianne improves on her treatment of people before she continues on Worldpackers. PLEASE message before you sign up.

The name "oasis in the heart of Victoria" couldn't be more true!
If you want to expolore Victoria and all it's beauty this is the right place for you. In exchange for a fair working schedule you get a great accomodation, a fridge full of food and a perfect location just 5-10min away from Downtown and the ocean..
Working for Dianne was so much fun and you get so many chances to meet new people!
I would definitely come back, and wish Dianne all the best - Thank you for everything :))

Dianne has created a little paradise for travellers in the middle of Victoria and is a great host too. There is always something to do (housekeeping, cleaning, gardening or helping out with the cats and campervans) and lots of details to take care of. That's why I recommend staying at least 2 months or even longer! The work is fair and there is plenty of time to explore Victoria and the surrounding area. All in all, I had a wonderful time with Dianne and would come back any time. Thank you so much!

If you want to feel comfortable, healthy and happy, this is your place.
Plants, animals and details all around makes the house alive and wonderful to stay.
The work is fair and easy to catch. You just need to have initiative and good eye for details.
Dianne, is one of a kind. She has amazing life stories and she will take you to stunning hikes and show you how beautiful Victoria is.
The location is superb, you are 5 to 10 minutes away from all the cool places around.
Definitely a memorable experience, i would come back for sure!
