We are a backpacker Hostel in the vibrant town of Port Macquarie, which has gorgeous beaches where you can surf, chill at lovely cafes and visit our cute city center. It is also home to the one and only koala hospital, which you can visit every day for free. Australia’s Billabong zoo is only 10km away. The hostel is just a short distance from the town center, beaches, walking tracks, shops and restaurants etc. We are known for having a chilled and laid back working environment where everyone is treated as part of the family. Life here gives you the chance to lead or take part in many activities such as sunrise surfing, snorkeling,body boarding, coastal walks, heading to the pub for live music, nightly socials around the hostel and much more. You can just chill out next to the pool or relax in a hammock. There is something for everyone. We encourage all of our team to get involved and interact with backpackers and other guests in building an atmosphere and having fun.
Hi all, My name is Mathilde i'm a 29yo Frenchie who have the chance to manage this beautiful hostel in Port Macquarie. I have a super cool team by my side with Sarah from France and Rajesh and Govind our Nepali team . The four of us are a solid team but we always welcome with a lot of enthusiasm any news volunteers. We love going surfing together after work, watch movies in the TV room and spending time with the guests on the weekend.

I am very grateful to have worked at the Ozzie Pozzie and for the people I have met. Sarah was a very understanding, communicative, and caring boss and I learned a lot from her leadership and hospitality skills. I became very close friends with the other workers and am truly sad to be leaving. The accommodation was amazing. I shared a cabin with one other girl for three weeks and had my own room for the other two weeks. There is a lot of space at the Ozzie Pozzie to relax, read or just hang out. The atmosphere is chill while still being respectful of everyone’s needs.

I really enjoyed volunteering here and had the best time in Port Macquarie! The staff is just the best and is helping you whenever you need help :) The hostel is super organised and the work is pretty easy. We were always done after 2 hours but it didn't really feel like work as we were listening to music and worked in a team. After work, we just relaxed at the pool, went surfing or played cards. Can highly recommend this place and would always come back! And thanks to Vicky, Sarah, Mathilde, Vanessa & of course the rest of the team <3

I had a great time at Ozzie Pozzie! The work is simple and doesn’t take much time, and the other staff and leadership are kind, sociable, and helpful! The hostel itself is also a lovely place to spend time, with lots of facilities and activities making it feel comfortable and welcoming. I made great friends here and will always look back fondly on my time at Ozzie Pozzie!
