Our place is really great place to meet new people.
Our cafe serve very tasty curry, and you can eat it for very small fee.
If you stay our place, you can explore Kyoto city very easyly.
If you want to learn Japanese , we will help you of course .

We are a guest house which opend in 2013. We have so many guests every day so that we need you to help to maintain cleanness in our guest house. Our working houre is just 3 hour and you get 8 days off a month at least.

I had a great time, especially because of the kind and fun staff.
The hours were always as agreed upon, below 3h per day. If there are only two people cleaning it takes about 2.5h on less busy days. With three people it's easier and can be done fairly quick, even under two hours on busy days. So, it depends how many helpers are available and on the season.
The work itself is very easy and less compared to other experiences I've had. Of course, since it is such a huge international hostel some, people leave more dirt unfortunately.
But, overall, I loved it and would highly recommend it. 😊👍

Place is not cozy at all. Even guest are not having fun. Most of the staff are not welcoming, some of them never even said hi. Area where is located the hostel is noisy and too crowded. Always hard to leave a Bad review but i really do not recommend. We sleep amongst a 14 beds dormitry. No intimacy really. Also it's very very dirty. Did not have fun.

I was the only volunteer, but the other workers were very welcoming and friendly. The work is simple and easy -a lot of freetime to explore! The house itself is definetly a little dirty and you can see mold on the walls. I also heard about the bed bug problem, but it was all fixed when I stayed.
Another thing: you have no privacy! You will sleep in a room with 11 guests (capsule) and everything is shared! There is no private or quiet room to have a phonecall with your family.
pro: easy work/ lot of freetime/ good location/ nice workers
con: dirty/no privacy/lack of sleep

This hostel was disappointing. The state of the hostel itself was poor with noticeable signs of neglect. There was visible black mould on the walls and inside fridges, and dust accumulation. Though the rooms were better, our relief didn't last. After a week, a bed bug infestation was discovered. Despite our efforts to eliminate bugs and spray the beds, it required professional help. Staff response was problematic; some were reluctant to acknowledge the issue and nothing was done. Wira, our kind host was hindered by staff shortages. Some days, only one person cleaned with little to no support.

I endured 5 out of 6 weeks. No management, poor communication. Had me work over the agreed hours. Said I would have to work on both my days off for 12 days in a row. Rooms filled with black mold.
The bed bugs. So many bites. When I suggested bed bugs they said that they were on 4th floor not 3rd so I was ok, they knew they had them. I found them in my bed. Showed them footage - twice. Some staff still didn't believe me. Gaslighting me. I gave them a bug, they said "what do U want me to do about it" and made me sleep in same bed. Strangers were asking if I had a skin condition it was that bad
