Shikoku-Island Wind Family Farm

Hello, my name is Yoshinaga. (In Japan, people usually call me by my family name. And with respect, I end my name with "...-san." So you can call me "Yoshinaga-san.") = Why we offer Worldpackers = I started the 2020 Worldpackeres Host. My farm mainly grows tomatoes. In addition, there are delicious vegetables, fruit trees, and some animals. In addition, forestry and architecture are also DIY. Japan's rural population is declining. And the amount of abandoned farmland is increasing. This is very problematic. I am doing a small project to solve this problem. We aim for harmony between the economy, nature and people. (business, development, education, cooking, etc.) We cannot accept many guests. I want to interact slowly. And I want to hear your story. You will also have the opportunity to interact with Japanese people. Experience our culture. If you have time, let's enjoy hobbies together! Perhaps this experience is not possible on short trips. A friendly and relaxed approach, giving you plenty of time and energy to enjoy your surroundings. In exchange for your help, we will provide good service and a great experience. Let's make a page of memories in the countryside of Shikoku. Please contact us anytime. The area is beautiful and has good natural energy.

This is a place to live quietly and enjoy time slowly Hello. My name is "Yoshinaga". My family is my wife and dog. i speak a little english I will try my best to comReception from with you. This is not a tourist spot. It's a small rural village. My family owns an organic farm. The main crops we grow are delicious vegetables such as tomatoes. I am always thinking about good lifestyle and world peace. The area has many old and historic rice terraces and many mountainous environments around beautiful rivers. Nice views. Jobs include picking and shipping vegetables, washing vegetables, planting seedlings, removing weeds, pruning, general farm work, and sometimes helping to sell vegetables at the local market. Do various agricultural jobs with me. The work is easy, safe and you can learn a lot. Work will begin at 8:00 am. Lunch is provided free of charge. The afternoon is your free time. You can enjoy the weekend for free. You make your own breakfast and dinner. Basic ingredients will be provided by us free of charge. The volunteer house is next to my office. The Volunteer House is a small handmade room in a separate greenhouse. A separate bedroom, kitchen, washing machine, hot water shower, composting toilet, wood stove, Wi-Fi and bicycles are available free of charge. In your off time you can enjoy riverside and mountain walks, fishing, kayaking and hiking.

The best experience I could get as a first-time volunteer! I fell in love with the location, the nature of work, and my conversations with Yoshinaga-san and his amazing wife. Yoshinaga-san is an outstanding host and mentor, and I feel recharged and reinvented after this stay. The work was always exciting and meaningful and designed so that I'm well physically and mentally. It might be challenging to travel around since the connections are not so good, but Yoshinaga-san was always willing to help! Also, my Japanese has developed a lot! I'm grateful for this month and it's far beyond words!

What a lovely time we had.
I am grateful to have met her.
It was only four weeks, but we laughed and had fun.
Above all, I was happy to see her grow up.
It must have been born in her effort and slow time.
From now on, I want to watch over new dramas that are like family.

My 2 weeks here have been a wonderful learning experience. I learned a lot about agriculture, the types of crops and its characteristics. Yoshinaga-san was a very wise and kind man. He was like a father figure to me. He taught me a lot about business management and how he manages his business which enlightened me. The cultural exchange also has been interesting and deep. Work was mostly simple and easy-going but was never meaningless. I gained valuable skills from it. The location was surrounded by nature and had the best ice cream. Overall, a marvelous journey and would love to visit again!

The time I spent with him was quick.
His English is excellent and no problem in any country.
However, he has little experience, so please support him.
Kohei does not give up and strives to the end.
I highly recommend Kohei to hosts around the world.

Yoshinaga-san is not only an outstanding farmer but also a great host who put my needs and expectations high on his priority list. I will be forever grateful for the time I spent at Wind Family Farm and can only hope that I get an opportunity to return again in the future.

I volunteered with Yoshinaga San's tomato farm in May 2021. It was remarkable experience. I helped with Tomato green house, some wood cutting and some general farming work. I experienced local life and the beautiful nature. I also helped with cooking as they are eager to learn.
His wife, neighbors are so nice and kind and together we had nice even like outdoor cooking etc. Yoshinaga san is very kind and helped from the beginning . Explained everything clearly. Overall I can highly recommend for everyone to volunteer with Yoshinaga San's wind family farm. I wish him best of luck !- Dan
