Shristi farm( nepal volunteer hands)

A farmer’s lifestyle is a busy and hectic one. A lot of tasks and work are done and must be completed every day to achieve their ultimate goal.

A day in the life on the farm starts very early. This is to do in order to finish tasks more quickly. Once they are ready, they prepare the tools and machinery they need for the day. If there are crop harvests to be done, they are usually done first for them to be delivered immediately while they are still freshly picked.

Hello, Namaste, My name is Shristi Sapkota Sigdel, I m married women. I m 30 years old, i have small son. I m simple women who help in farm. Managing volunteers does not require any specialist knowledge. Mainly, you need common sense and the ability to put yourself in the position of a volunteer and ask yourself how you would you like to be treated. As a result, this guide aims to give you simple guidelines and practical information so that your group can successfully manage volunteers. This guide is about managing volunteers once you have already planned for their involvement and recruited the volunteers you need. If you haven’t already planned for volunteer involvement and recruited the volunteers you need, please see our Involving Volunteers: Planning and Background guide and our Recruiting and Welcoming Volunteers guide.

Our experience in Nepal was very positive: we were warmly welcomed and integrated into the family, with excellent food and the opportunity to take part in family events. The work was accessible and rewarding, though sometimes limited, leaving us to question our usefulness.
If you're looking for conviviality, this is the perfect place - we love this family deeply! Babu, we won't forget you, we promise 🫶

It was really nice that they took care of me as if we were family, told me how they lived, and let me experience what it’s like to be one of them. It was fun.

Shristi is a very kind woman. Her family welcomed me with open arms. Within 5 minutes of arriving I was put in a saree with tika and before I knew it I was on stage with 2 other volunteers at a dancing competiton. If you would like to experience a realistic household this would be a great place for you.
even tho I had made a mistake with the agreement we talked about it and she made me feel better.
thank you didi 🫶🏼

We had a very good time with Shristi and her family. They were so welcoming and eager to show us their daily life and traditions. We learned a lot together, we went to the temple and to religious celebrations, we helped for the cooking, we saw the kindergarten. We have been glad to stay longer to discover more, as it was the monsoon season we couldn’t do much with the farming.
We’ll definitely visit again Shristi’s family if we come back to Nepal ! Don’t hesitate to go 🥰

I had an absolutely chill experience at Shristi house. From the 21 days I was there, only around 5 days I had something to do. The other 15 days I spent just studying/working on my laptop once there was nothing to do.

In the days I had tasks, they lasted around 1 hour and I could help digging and preparing the field for the rice cultivation, also carrying some bamboo, carrying the goats to eat and moving some plants around.

Shristi and her family are really welcoming and hospitable, I could feel like home.

Also, I was in June so in most of the days the heat was very intense😰
