The ESN Kingsday Campsite

If you want to visit the biggest streetparty in the Netherlands, this is the most cost efficient option around. With a lot of time to enjoy the festival you will be sure that you haven't missed a thing. Next to that our crowd exist completely out of international people and we will be able to show you the best parts of Amsterdam.

As all former ESN members we know the international crowd is the best crowd. You'll be spending your time with mostly international students from all over the world and showing them the time of their life. Work hard play hard is definitely our motto.

This was the first year of the campsite and I think that the reason why they lacked a lot of organization. I applied for an electrician and ended up being a carpenter, driver, cleaner, chef and other things haha but that was good. I’m sure the next’s year is going to be better so far. The place is at 30 minutes of the city center by bike and you can use the bikes for free. I found there incredible people that helped me in many ways.

The Sport campsite is a very nice campsite about 30 min from the city center on the bike, I met amazing people and other Latinos that made everything better. The volunteering wasn’t well organized and since the beginning the communication in between the volunteers and the manager where fail, which got harder trough time since the manager had inconvenient behavior and wouldn’t listen to our needs. In the beginning we didn’t work much since we were gathering materials, around the 6th day we started working hard, lots of days we were working the whole day. It became good because of the people.

I had a great experience and even extended my stay for a couple of days. I had a lot of fun with the other volunteers, who were awesome! The place is cool and the tents are comfortable, you just have to keep in mind it’s not that close to the center. The meals were great because of Ro. Also, u can use the bikes for free and I liked the freedom we had to create things. I would just suggest an improvement on the organization of the working hours. For several days we worked way more than 5 hours and in others less, but it would be way easier for us to manage our time if we have proper shifts. :)

The experience as Campiste Manager was stunning! The backoffice team and campsite staff were supportive and helpful. Organizational stuff, as documents and processes, can be improved, but they let you implement new solutions by your own knowledge and experience. The volunteer team did great!
