Considerado uno de los hostales mas famosos de Antigua, localizado a solo 100 metros del parque central y a 600 metros del conocido Arco de Santa Catalina, con una vista espectacular hacia los volcanes Agua, Acatenango y Fuego.
El Hostal es un espacio muy seguro y ameno, siempre con una vibra muy positiva por parte del staff. También es un lugar perfecto para conocer otros viajeros, aprender idiomas e intercambio cultural. Además de los descuentos y beneficios que ofrece el voluntariado, tales como tours, hospedaje, alimentación y propinas.
El hostal cuenta con dos bares, los cuáles son atendidos por un alegre grupo de voluntarios, esto con la guía del bar mánager. Siempre trabajando en equipo y con el respeto como prioridad. No se permite ningún tipo de agresión de cualquier índole, entre voluntarios o con los huéspedes. Siempre abiertos a una comunicación clara y sin duda nuestro mayor prioridad es que nuestro staff tenga una experiencia inolvidable en nuestro hostal!

Volunteering at Tropicana was a lot of fun. I met incredible people, especially the staff from the hostel, who ended up becoming really good friends to me. However, the work itself felt like a job; it could be tiring at times, and you might feel like you don't have enough time for yourself. If you have the night shift, you'd work a bit longer than five hours. Overall, it's a lot of fun, so it would be perfect for you if you're looking to party.

My experience at Tropicana has been one of my favorites. I felt welcomed here the moment I walked in the door and the 3 weeks I spent here flew by way too quickly. This was a great place to bartend for the first time as the Tropicana team was always willing to help and I was never left confused about what my role and expectations were. I was able to learn a lot in this role and practiced my Spanish while working alongside the local staff. This position is perfect if you’re looking to meet fun & interesting people from different parts of the world while exploring all that Antigua has to offer.

I loved my experience at Tropicana! It was my first time volunteering and it couldn’t have gone better. The entire staff was so welcoming and supportive. Everyone looks out for each other and it’s such a fun environment. Tropicana is a great place to meet people from all over the world and they provide so many opportunities to get out and explore. Charlie and the other bar tenders do such a good job of making you feel at home I would highly recommend this experience to anyone. I can’t wait to go back and see all the amazing friends I made during my stay here!

Volunteering with Tropicana helped me connect with travelers all around the world and made me less alone traveling to a solo country by myself. I made countless memories with Tropicana that way in Antigua. However, at times the bar management was a bit tough in my opinion to me as a volunteer. There was some circumstances where I felt like the respect level was not there which to be honest made my experience not a perfect 4/5 with Tropicana. They are great at accommodating you into Antigua but I think it’s a hit or miss if you connect with some staff members.

I recently had the privilege of volunteering as a bartender at Tropicana and I must say that was an incredibly fulfilling experience from the moment I arrived. I was wrongly welcomed by the stuff and syllable in tears creating atmosphere that felt like a home away from home. Thanks to Charlie and his team.❤️
