Villa Eshta

We are a charming hostel located right next to the beach in beautiful San Juan, Puerto Rico. We are currently going through a transitional phase and updating a lot of our units and modifying some procedures.

Come help make a difference in an evergrowing community. We are located one block away from the up-and-coming Calle Loiza (Loiza Street) - full of eateries, bars, supermarkets, fruit stands, restaurants, and cafes. Most things are within walking distance, or a very cheap Uber ride away. Check out the iguanas in the streets of San Juan.

We harvest our own basil/oregano in our garden, we practice Spanish/English with locals, and we encourage artists to let out their creativity with some mural paintings. There's heaps to do, and so much to learn in terms of Puerto Rican culture/history/museums/cuisine.

We are social and familiar. We like to make all our staff and guests feel part of a community, so in the evening we all hang out in the patio and later there is always the opportunity to explore Calle Loiza together. We know as a volunteer you are away from home, so any necessity you may have, feel free to communicate it to either the manager or the owner. We always make our best to make Villa Eshta a home.

Had a great time at Villa Eshta! All the volunteers were super nice and Walid is super communicative! Not a party hostel, so know what to expect. Work is 5 days a week, 5 hours a day and the work is super chill. Location is perfect, a couple blocks from the beach.

It was my very first volunteer job through WP and i need to say that it changed my life forever.
The staff is super friendly and Margot (manager) and Walid (owner) are super helpful and kind. Broke my teeth on the first week and Walid helped figure it out.
I improved my english and talked with travelers from all around the world. Got to explore the island and went to the beach everyday (literally a 5 minute walk).
You get trained by other volunteers and the job it’s not complicated, you get help when needed but they also get freedom to make your own calls when needed.
Hope to come back soon.

The experience was great! Villa Eshta is in a good place so you have a store and also the beach very near. The other Volenteers we’re very friendly and helpfully. The amount of work was good and not very stressful. You get to know alot of cool places around puerto rico in your time of. I would totally recommend villa eshta.

The location of the hostel is great, with only 2 minutes to the beach and nearby there is a Walgreens to buy the most necessary things. In itself, the hostel is moderate from the cleanliness. Everything is a little older. The work that needs to be done is easy and the hours are not exceeded. The manager is great and always there for questions and problems. In all, it is worth an experience!
