Our fun, friendly hostel on the beautiful island of Roatan could use your help. This volunteer position is in the early evening, from 4-7:30, so the rest of your day is free to enjoy island life. You'll be in the office to assist with any guest questions, greet arriving guests and give them a tour of the hostel, so the owner can get a little down time with her kids.

There is a 1 month minimum commitment to volunteer with us. Volunteering is a popular option, and we just take a few volunteers at a time. There is a $50 deposit to hold a spot, which is refunded at the end of your stay, provided you arrive at the date planned and stay for the time frame you've committed to.
As a volunteer, you're representing the hostel, both during your shift and on your off time while you're staying with us. We expect our volunteers to be polite and helpful with the guests, and to act in a professional manner.
When you start your shift, you can take a walk around the hostel, see if there's any trash that needs to be picked up, give a sweep to the back pool deck, do a quick tidy in the communal kitchen. Any laundry that's still drying should be taken down and folded. Most of the shift is in the office, but if there aren't any guests that need anything, you can also do some weeding and pruning of the gardens in front of the office. You can also take a walk around to let guests know what dinner is being offered, and take photos of guests for up to upload on social media.
In the office, you'll want to write down notes of anything that needs follow up (if a guest gets a rental towel, purchases a water bottle, leaves laundry etc). If a new guest is checking in, you'll need to write down their passport details, show them their room and give them an orientation tour.
