La escuela's la escuela es un proyecto maravilloso. Está brindando oportunidades a muchos niños y niñas en la comunidad y esta mejorando e impulsando las oportunidades de estos jóvenes para su futuro. La escuela es preciosa, en plena naturaleza y el equipo de profesores es fantástico. Jema es una persona maravillosa que te acoge en su casa como a un miembro más de la familia. Y su familia es también encantadora. Una inmersión en la cultura local increíble. El pueblo, Kidatu, es tranquilo a la vez que hay muchísima vida. Ya tengo ganas de volver a visitarlos.

Fue una muy linda experiencia. La escuela y el lugar donde está ubicada es realmente muy lindo. Los niños están realmente predispuestos a aprender y jugar con uno. Nos alojamos en la casa del director del colegio, junto con su familia (esposa y 4 niños). Nos dieron una habitación con baño privado, realmente cómoda.Esto sumó mucho a la experiencia ya que nos permitió compartir con la familia, charlar, disfrutar sus comidas y conocer sus costumbres. Único tema a tener en cuenta para tareas de Marketing y redes, es que no hay buena conexión a internet, por lo que hay que tener paciencia. GRACIAS!

Fue una hermosa experiencia porque compartí mucho con los niños tanto del colegio como los hijos del director, me quedé con ganas de poder ayudar más, no están organizadas las actividades para los voluntarios en el colegio, pero su Director está abierto a escuchar es muy amable y a mejorar eso me gustó! fui para ayudar con las redes sociales pero tristemente no tienen un sistema de internet que ayude a llevar a cabo trabajos online en el colegio!!! Espero que las mejoras sigan, hay mucho potencial en el colegio 😍 GRACIAS POR LA LINDA EXPERIENCIA😍

I have done a lot of volunteering, but I have not met a host that is as kind and as generous as Jemma. I enjoyed getting to know some of the other people in the village. The children were amazing. They were hungry to learn. It could be challenging because of lack of materials. This can be solved if you carry some paper and a couple of pencils with you. It also helps if you plan your lessons. Thank you for Priska for taking care of me as well. You are the best!

I've been thinking about what to write since this experience had everything. Of course, I want to thank Jema and his family for making me feel at home. Regarding the the school, there are a lot of needs, but the hostel project that Frankie started is going great, the kids are fun and some are eager to learn while others just want to have fun and play all day. I think this experience will make you value everything a lot more. For me, it was an honor to be the first Mexican at the the school. The only 2 things I will not miss are the mosquitoes and the ugali (Sorry Tanzania 😂)

My experience volunteering at the the school has been blissful that I extended my stay for another week, because I feel like the month flew by real quick and needed more time to spend with the kids and to also improve my Swahili a little bit. We had a incredible experience ! Full of adventures, safari, hiking, waterfalls... Children are full of happiness and love. Jema helped us a lot, we feel very confortable (miss you shemeji.) About the school, students have to learn a lot so you can help them ! They need books, pens, clothes... You need to buy your own water and data, (cheap), and there is Turkish toilets (no toilet paper)! You must try Mama Fadhila's samosas (neighbor), delicious ! Ps : I started a paint project in the classes to bring them a better environnement, I hope next volonteers can finish this project ! Asante Sana!

Jema and his family have become my home away from home! I felt so welcomed and comfortable, was well taken care of by mama P, loved my days at the the school (even if they are a little longer than stated), and have made friends and connections for life. I have had such incredible experiences at the school, visiting waterfalls, visiting Masai and visiting Mikumi national park! I was nervous about travelling solo for the first time, but it has been an invaluable experience. I will be returning as soon as I can!!

Infelizmente tive algumas experiências desagradáveis com o Anfitrião. Já a família dele,esposa e o seu enteado são muito queridos e eu gostei muito de conhecê-los. A escola precisa muito de ajuda, e de doação, a experiência com as crianças é muito valiosa. Porém falta instrução, os voluntários ficam um pouco perdidos. No alojamento possivelmente você terá que dividir a cama com outro voluntário, o banho será de caneca quando tem água e poderá encontrar alguns insetos. Importante ajudar na compra de alimentos pois as vezes falta. Toda ajuda é bem vinda para família e escola. Gratidão.

I loved staying with Jema's family in Kidatu. Everyone is really kind and welcoming. They also took great care of me when I was sick! Okay, you should know that you might have to share a bed with another volunteer and also, you have to buy your own water. But besides that everything is great! I enjoyed staying here so much, that I even extended my time here on 2 more weeks. The kids in the school are awesome and Jema took us/me (earlier we were 4 volunteers, later it was only me)to the Massai, we went on a safari,... He even managed to bring me to a college of his friend. - Asante sana!
