We are an off grid eco friendly hotel that is busy expanding and needs help with our veggie gardens, building maintenance and general duties in the kitchen, laundry, housekeeping in the hotel and gardens. We are on an island in the jungle where we have an abundance of different animals, like the howling monkeys, sloths and parrots to name a few. We are also in need of an artist who can paint a mural.

Overall, I personally enjoyed my 2 weeks at the hotel. I wouldn't say it was the best volunteering experience I had, but it wasn't the worst either. The location is a bit far out and inconvenient if you're on a tight budget; it would've been better if we had at least 2 meals included, but the rooms were nice as well as the facilities. Darren and Anthony (the managers) are very special people and pretty much the reason this experience was so memorable. The tasks were relatively simple (breakfast duty and general help) but it did lack organisation and structure. Thank you!

The hotel was extremely beautiful but lacked in any sort of management or organization, would not recommend this to someone that's looking to really experience the bocos del toro experience as they are not very flexible with hours or days off, they have you split your hours up to where you always have to be on location which was a bummer to get to do anything. I found myself super frustrated all the time at the owner as she would consistently change her mind and made living conditions difficult as I had to move rooms at least 15 times in my stay

The hotel is an amazing place right next to the beach (even if you can't go swimming) and the jungle. It is off-grid so make sure to buy groceries before going there. I worked in the garden but also in the kitchen, which was really stressful because it was not well organized. The hosts are really nice, but there were some conflicts among them and in general a negative vibe. When I was sick I had to work for a few hours on my free day to make up for it.

The place is amazing and directly on the beach. However, I applied for decoration and did none of it. Mainly I worked in the kitchen either for cooking or for cleaning and in the garden. Other than that I helped the boss with cleaning her Temple. I did a lot of overhours for which I had to work less in the following days. I got along good with the ones in charge, though I had the feeling that they do not work as a team. I did not have the feeling of having a superb community there and was really happy to connect with other volenteers.
