We love our volunteers and everyone is appreciated here and valued. During the winter season we have fewer guests, but they are no less important to us. This is an opportunity to be a part of a unique spot, where a pop up community could happen at a moment's notice. OR, it could be a spot that is quiet and with a lot of solitude. You have to be ready for anything. So flexibility and a positive attitude is really important.
Typically this is day shift, not night, though sometimes we need coverage for late arriving guests. Being good with Excel spreadsheets is a plus. Having experience with housekeeping tasks, making beds, and keeping a spotless environment is also a plus. These are all important here.
We respect the individuals. Being friendly and helpful is a must. No noise or big parties, since we often have people on night shifts who need to sleep days. Being gregarious, friendly, and psychologically well adjusted is important. We don't tolerate a lot of drama here. NO SMOKING, VAPING OR DRUG USE of any kind permitted, since we have workers who must get drug tested from time to time and we cannot jeopardize their livelihoods. No discriminatory persons here. We are a global community.
