La experiencia

Hello! We are looking for someone from March 16, who either has done their ISA level 1, or has been surfing for quite some time, to come and help out at our surf shack. You will be giving a weekly surf theory to our guests (about the history of surf, how waves are generated, how to read the surf forecast, water and current safety etc..), hand out equipment to guests, keeping the shack clean, weekly photo analysis, and doing a monthly inventory.

Programa detallado

POSITION AVAILABLE MARCH 16-MAY 2.

You would be coaching alongside our main instructor with one surf lesson per working day. Ideally you've received your ISA Level 1, but if not then certainly teaching experience! We can discuss.

Each lesson runs for about 2.5hrs, with overall time more around 3 hours to give out or take back equipment on some days. Depending on the number of guests we have, the classes are divided by skill level (usually true beginners/beginners + and/or beginners+/intermediate). We are expecting no more than 15-20 guests from now until end of season, and not all of them will be taking lessons.

When there are not too many guests and only one instructor is required, you may be asked to clean/organize the surf shack, or take photos of the guests for surf photo analysis. The photos happen once a week. We ask for a time commitment of around 20 hours a week.

Actividades & Turnos

Open the shack at the start and finish of daily surf lessons; take photos of guests during their surf lessons + provide analysis and tips on how they can improve; give a surf theory class once a week to educate new surfers on general surf etiquette; monthly inventory of wetsuits, boards, and deep cleaning of the shack.
