We offer a 2 to 8 week (preferably 8 weeks) internship experience on a beautiful organic farm in Central California during two time periods each year.
For 2017 we have two sessions available: Session 1, April 3 to May 29 and Session 2, July 3 to August 28.
All housing and food while at our farm is provided by us as well as transportation to and from the Fresno and Hanford Amtrak stations or to and from the Fresno Greyhound bus stations during your stay. Trips will cost extra but will be at cost. Transportation, park entry fees, food and lodging that will need to be reserved for the Grand Canyon Trip as well as the trip to LA will be extra and there will be opportunities to work extra hours to pay for the extra expenses on the Trip during the week on the farm.
We look forward to having you on our farm for a unique and memorable experience!
The workday begins usually 15 minutes before sunrise and will last 6 hours. The work may consist of thinning young fruit, summer pruning of tree suckers, collecting eggs, feeding hens, packing eggs, cleaning farm stay rooms, training young trees, checking irrigation drip hoses, general cleanup and/or harvesting of tree fruit. Afternoons will consist of free time and all are invited to relax and enjoy the Kings River or our amenities.
Activities available on site are swimming in the pool, tennis or basketball on our court, canoeing or fishing in the River or just reading a book on your deck under the Valley Oak trees overhanging the Kings River. Lunches will be self serve in our kitchen. Dinners will be held together with other COWTIPers along the River or by the pool.
COWTIPers will be expected to participate in cooking and cleaning for lunch and evening meals.

One of the highlights of the Worldpackers experience is the security. And we take that seriously. It is very important that all the conversations and confirmation steps are made through the Worldpackers' platform. By doing this, hosts and the travelers can review each other and get 24h support.
