This is a very fair exchange, you get a lot for what you do. The team is very accomodating and makes you feel welcome and the kitchen makes great food. Town is small but lively and you get great deals on travel to other places. Be aware that some times the waves can be crazy depending on the time of years do your research if you came to surf but the vibe is so chill here that 4 weeks will fly by :)

The hostel was an amazing hostel to volunteer at. The hostel itself is very beautiful and very well maintained. The work you do is actually fun and (if you enjoy gastronomy/bar work) and it was really cool to learn how to make some cocktails! The other staff members are all very welcoming and I had a lot of fun with them. It is a fair work exchange, as you get a lot of discounts, food, surfboards and yoga for free and it is a good split to work 4x a week for 7,5 h and have 3 days off. El Paredon is very small but if you enjoy the beach, sun and partying, then you will love your time at the hostel!

I stayed at the hostel for three weeks after deciding to shorten my stay after spending a week in El Paredón and realizing the town itself is quite limited in things to do. The volunteer team was amazing and I met some genuinely great people and made close friends during my time there. The bar shifts, however, were more physically demanding than I expected for a volunteer role. You're on your feet the entire 7.5-hour shift and constantly busy, which made the work feel more intense than I had anticipated. Still, it was a valuable experience, and I appreciated being part of such a lively community:)
