My place is a peaceful, slow-paced, and nature-rich countryside surrounded by mountains. Because it is unknown both in Japan and abroad, almost no foreign tourists come here, so you will feel a special sense of exclusivity. However, it has very convenient transportation, making it a great base for traveling: to the east, you can easily visit Himeji, Kobe, Osaka, and Kyoto; to the west, Okayama and Hiroshima, and even Shikoku; and to the north, Tottori.
Even though it is an unknown place, many traditional Japanese cultures are still alive. These traditional cultures—such as Kendo, the tea ceremony, Japanese drums (Wadaiko) and calligraphy, Japanese class etc.—cannot be experienced anywhere else. If you come to my place, you can experience true Japanese culture for free and enjoy interactions with local people in a way you cannot anywhere else.
As for Wadaiko, my volunteers often get to perform on stage. As for Kendo, it takes time to learn the basics, so long-term stays are very welcome.
Unlike the city, our restaurant is located in a calm and peaceful place, featuring a private garden of over 1,000 tsubo (approx. 3,300 square meters) filled with seasonal flowers in full bloom. It is probably the only privately-run place like this. We also value interaction with our customers, creating a warm, homey atmosphere where talking with guests is part of the fun.
If you stay here, your Japanese will definitely improve. Therefore, anyone who is truly interested in Japanese culture and a slow-paced countryside life is very welcome.
★I don't accept couples, but pairs are okay.
My name is Hiring. I live in Kamigori with my husband and a dog. Kamigori lies in the countryside, meaning it is quiet and relaxing. The people here are very kind and willing to share local culture.
