If a traveler applies to your place and you don't respond within 3 days, the application will expire and your response rate will decrease. Timely responses show travelers that you’re an attentive and considerate host.
We've noticed that hosts that respond quickly, greatly increase their chance of taking on volunteers. And think about it: we can't let a volunteer without any answer. If you can't reply, we reply : )
Let's say Anna is interested in helping you out. When she applies to your location, we collect her payment info to confirm her commitment. She's so anxious to hear from you : )
If you take more than 3 days to reply to Anna, her application will expire.
She'll receive an email from our team, so that she can move on and search for other hosts interested in receiving her.
After Anna's application has expired, your response rate will decrease (and nobody wants that...). However, you can still continue the conversation and send messages to her.
