Looking for a tranquil & memorable volunteer opportunity? Are you independent, love nature and want to live in an a little oasis that hosts retreat groups, travelers, vacationers and those on romantic getaways? Do you like to garden, clean, hospitality, animal care and meet people from all over the world, in a mellow and natural environment? Then volunteering at our bungalows and retreat center might be the fit for you! Our volunteer accommodations are simple and private with shared kitchen and shared bathroom. The beach is right across the road and 2-8min walkable restaurants, cafes stores & pharmacy. Puerto Viejo the main town is about 2miles/3.2km from us and bike rental shops are across the road from us! Easy, beautiful Pura Vida vibes!
We are a small family owned property of vacation bungalows & retreats in a lush jungle setting only 150m/500ft from playa Cocles beach on Costa Rica’s Caribbean coastline. We focus on wildlife preservation, respect and support of the vibrant Caribbean culture while creating a sanctuary for our guests inside our little oasis! We offer yoga, dance and fitness classes, SUP rentals, massage and bar services with seasonal breakfast service and help with setting up eco tours & Caribbean experiences to our guests. If this all sounds fun apply to become a volunteer! We accept 1-3 month positions for a combination of helping out on the clean team and hospitality team, depending on the season duties can vary.

I had an amazing experience at the lodge Hotel and I'm super grateful for the time I spent here. Karilily and her family are incredibly kind, welcoming and lovely. The working hours were very manageable and I genuinely enjoyed the work, especially welcoming guests to such a beautiful place. the lodge is simply paradise, surrounded by nature, close to the beach and located in the beautiful the lodge of Puerto Viejo. I'm leaving with many beautiful memories and a grateful heart. I would absolutely recommend this experience to anyone looking for a meaningful and special volunteer stay! Pura Vida!

I had a wonderful experience at Caribi the lodge Hotel! I was welcomed into a beautiful tropical paradise, where I saw sloths, toucans and monkeys almost every day. Karilily and Joel were very supportive, and communication was clear and everything was well organized. I enjoyed the flexible schedule and trying different tasks, from reception and cleaning to walking Diego and Kay and feeding the dogs and cats. It was a real pleasure to be part of this place!

I had a great experience in the lodge! Joel and Kari are such nice people and really make you feel like a part of the team. The workload is not that demanding and the projects are easy with flexible hours. I had a lot of fun with the team! While working at the lodge you also get to spend a lot of time surrounded by nature and animals and you learn so much about jungle life and the local culture. I would absolutely recommend working here! The place, the team and the vibes are so welcoming and friendly that it makes your experience unforgettable!

From the moment I arrived it felt like home. Karilily and Joel are such beautiful and kind people. They are hugely committed to the culture and environment. There were a lot of opportunities to practise Spanish with guests and also with people working around the property. Their commitment to us having free time is amazing and they are so considerate and fair with the work schedule. I was mostly cleaning - by choice (I love cleaning) but had the opportunity to do and learn other things too. I feel like part of the family! Thank you :) x

This exchange at the lodge Hotel was my first worldpackers experience and it was perfect. There was very clear communication from the start to finish, including expectations of what tasks were to be completed, travel logistics, and team dynamic management. As a volunteer, I had my own room with a locking door, fan, and bug net. Puerto Viejo is a fantastic the lodge, lots of nature, food, and reggae. I had plenty of time to walk the beaches, visit national parks, surf, take a chocolate tour, snorkel, etc. The highlight was of course the lifelong friends I made along the way <3
