A volte un viaggiatore ha bisogno soltanto di una sosta per riposare. Siamo noi. Siamo in una città regionale, lontani dalle grandi città, ma ci sono sempre cose interessanti da fare nella zona. Facciamo il nostro lavoro, viviamo le nostre vite e andiamo a pescare quando possiamo.
Mio marito ed io lavoriamo entrambi fuori dalla fattoria. Ma i miei orari non sono rigidi, quindi entro ed esco a seconda di ciò che va fatto in fattoria. Qui ti trattiamo come parte della famiglia, sempre interessati ad ascoltare altre storie culturali e a raccontare le nostre. Siamo una famiglia multiculturale. Mio marito è locale ma io vengo dal Texas, USA.

Mi è piaciuto molto trascorrere del tempo con Rachel e Paul. Sono due persone adorabili che sono grate per l'aiuto che i volontari danno loro. È stato davvero bello conoscere e incontrare persone locali, con molto tempo libero per esplorare la zona o rilassarsi nel pomeriggio. Spero magari di rivederli un giorno. Tutto il meglio a entrambi :)

Abbiamo trascorso un periodo meraviglioso da Dixie’s. Paul e Rachel sono molto accoglienti e ti immergono rapidamente nella loro vita quotidiana. Ti offrono pasti incredibili. E buone opportunità con eventi locali e cose che si svolgono. Ci hanno presentato ad altri residenti che sono stati anche incredibilmente accoglienti. L'equilibrio tra lavoro e riposo era buono. Ed è stata una sensazione incredibile aiutare la loro attività, dalla preparazione di condimenti, di marmellate, di salse e di altre cose simili, fino ad aiutare a mantenere la proprietà e coltivare e raccogliere le colture coltivate. C'erano quattro cuccioli molto giocosi che amavano l'attenzione.

I had truly amazing time at the farm's. Rachel and Paul are funny, kind, open-minded, and they welcomed me with big, warm hearts which made me feel just like at home. They took well care of me during my stay and Rachel's cooks were truly amazing---chef's kiss. I cannot forget about 4 little puppies that made my travel very special to me. I will never forget about my stay at the farm's 'cause it was truly home away from home for me^-^. And I would recommend this 100%. Love you guys, Udval^-^

Rachel and Paul are great and they really made me feel like a part of their litte family. I've had a wonderful time learning a lot and seeing new things around the area, at the same time as I've experienced the life of a small aussie town. The work is not too hard, but still fulfilling, and in your spare time you get to enjoy the closeness of the nature in the countryside, or you can relax with the wonderful puppy dogs. It's a really nice place to stay, especially if you want a break from the busy big cities.

The farm is a great place if you want to learn more about farming and gardening and at the same time have a break from the big city life. It's quiet and peaceful and allowes you to relax. The hosts Rachel and Paul will definitely make you feel welcome and invite you to their every day life. You also get to meet the locals in the town and see the beautiful landscape around Gunnedah. Sometimes you will find yourself in the kitchen learning new recipes and how to take care of and preserve the veggies they grow.
