Unfortunately the host is looking to have problems just like he has had with several volunteers in the past. I strongly recommend you to contact volunteers who have been there in the past before accepring. You can verify what I am saying. The host has terrible communication skills, at times lies about things one did or did not do, etc, and his mood is unstable. You can see my teviews from other hostels I have been well rated

Prego gentilmente chiunque voglia fare volontariato giusto per risparmiare i soldi del soggiorno, di non contattarmi. Nella nostra struttura abbiamo bisogno di persone volenterose, abbiamo bisogno di un aiuto concreto, e non di persone che se gli chiedi di fare 3 letti, impiega circa 20/25 minuti.
Seriamente dico, 3 letti in 25 minuti vuol dire proprio che mi vuoi prendere in giro.
La pazienza ha un limite.

La verdad que esperaba una verdadera experiencia por ser mi primera vez, pero la verdad que fue una pesadilla, solo pude estar 3 días por el comportamiento de Yuri, muy maleducado y aprovechándose de la necesidad de las personas que buscan por este medio solo vivir una bonita experiencia. Yo no lo recomiendo en absoluto, si tanto quiere trabajar solo debe hacerlo, amenaza con botarte desde la primera vez. No se lo deseo a nadie. Es un ambiente de tensión y no hay respeto.

Ho aperto l'ostello per un ideale di comunità ma sono fortemente delusa e forse chiudo tutto perchè oggi siete tutti particolarmente egoisti e quando dite che non abbiamo rispetto i primi a non averne siete proprio voi che pretendete tutto come se tutto vi fosse dovuto. Siete una delusione. Sì non vogliamo questo genere di persone a cui è stato regalato tutto nella vita. Noi non regaliamo niente. Il rispetto deve essere reciproco, altrimenti stattene a casa tua o cercati un altro posto.

There is a high standard expected for the work, especially with the cleaning, but the work is only around 2-3 hours so if you can adjust to this you can have a great experience here. Yuri really loves his hostel and is very protective of it. He prefers to have people who know how to work well and doesn't want anyone who can't handle a couple of hours of hard work. The place is very clean when the team works well together. Pia, Yuris mother, is very lovely and welcoming and often cooks a beautiful lunch for you if you want it.

Llegamos el día antes de comenzar, y cómo nos habían cancelado la reserva de hotel, nos recibieron. Al principio estuvo un poco complicado la comunicación con Pía, pero luego fue todo un poco más fluido y pudimos comunicarnos bien. Yuri es un anfitrión muy bueno. Le gusta que esté todo impecable, por eso es que recomiendo mucho su hostel como para quedarse algunas noches o como para voluntariar. Pudimos trabajar y estudiar tranquilos, ya que tiene un espacio apto. Además fueron muy amables, y nos dieron una habitación privada para nosotros. Una experiencia muy linda, espero volverlo a ver!

Best experience of my life! 🤩🤩🤩 This was my very first volunteering experience and it couldn't have been better. The hostel vibe is incredible—everyone is friendly, positive, and welcoming. Yuri and Pía made me feel like part of their family, always caring about my well-being and making me smile. Truly wonderful people with beautiful hearts! The location is also perfect: close to everything for sightseeing during the day and enjoying Palermo's nightlife at night. I completely fell in love with both the hostel and the city. I'll always be grateful for this unforgettable experience! 💗
