Pinewood stables

What you should expect if you came to volunteer with me
- day starts 10am(may vary day to day)
-haying and feeding of horses
-feeding and changing chickens water dishes
-rugging horses and get them ready to be turned out (weather depending)
- once horses are turned out the stables will be cleaned out
-fresh hay and water in all the stables
- goats are let out and stables cleaned and fresh water and hay placed into stables
-break for lunch and take some free time until the afternoon
-around 4.30 (differs summertime) horses are brought back into the stables and put in for the night
-all animals get fed twice a day so feeding is repeated in the evenings
Looking for someone thats not afraid to get their hands dirty and has good productivity. Experience with horses not neccesary but would be a bonus. Can't be afraid of animals big or small.

Hello , my name is Adel and I own a small farm out in the countryside. At my farm we have Horses , chickens , dogs , cats and goats. The majority of my animals are all rescues that have come into my care they were either surrendered to me or have been found and were in need of a forever home. With having so many animals it is required to do a 6 day week with 1 day off your day off which is no set day it just depends on how the week goes and what has to be done. You will have your own space separate to the main house where you will share with other volunteers (seperate bedrooms of course) . Dinner can be had together in the main house or if you choose you can have it in your own place. On your day off you can explore and go for walks on the quiet country roads or head off for the day to dublin etc. Bus routes are close to us in a small village that you can be dropped off to by myself or my partner.

At first, everything was going well despite the poor living conditions: a 5 cm mattress on a wooden board smaller than me, badly damaged pans, strong iron-smelling water, and rust everywhere. Despite the pleasant countryside setting, the animals were kept in cages on concrete. I stayed for only 2 weeks instead of a month because Adel would sometimes swear and constantly put me down about my English, even though I came here to practice. She only accepted French people, preventing a more international experience. Feel free to message me for more information.

Titouan you were here for 11 days and during that time I found you to be cheeky in the way you spoke to me. My dogs are in kennels for their own safety and yours we are a rescue and this why the dogs are walked on leads until they get used to the premises. We do not only accept French we have germans and Spanish alot. You were here with 2 other French at the time which was a coincidence. As for your accommodation I fail to see where the rust is as the place is constantly kept clean and has every

I enjoyed my stay there. I stayed for two weeks at Adel's farm; she picked me up and dropped me off at the bus stop. The animals are adorable, and the work schedule is respected. I also enjoyed all the time I spent with Chloe, Adel's friend. The mobile home may seem rustic to some people, feel free to ask Adel for details. Kinnegad is quite far from the farm to walk to, but the surrounding area is pretty for walks. I arrived at the farm during a difficult time for Adel, and despite this, she tried to make my stay more comfortable. I appreciated that she made sure everything was okay. Thanks !

Me and my girlfriend felt uncomfortable because of the hosts behavior. I felt disrespected by the attitude of the host. I suggest that communication be more clear. We felt the quality of food was not up to par. We felt the caravan was poorly maintained. We felt that the environment didn't allow us to enjoy the animals.

Mateo im sorry you felt that way but as you were made aware I was very stressed as a close member of family was hospitalised. I would also like to know how the food was not up to par and what you were expecting as I cooked you dinner each night of your stay. The mobile you stayed in has everything you needed netflix, WiFi and heaters. I also asked that you keep it clean and tidy during your stay. It is not a hotel.

The animals are amazing. The work is physically demanding but doable, and the hours are always respected. On my days off Adel has always accompanied me and picked me up at the bus stop. I'm vegetarian and Adel has always been available to cook me a delicious dinner. If you go in the colder months, however, bring warm clothing and keep in mind that the mobile you'll be staying in can be very damp and cold even though there two heaters. In conclusion Adel has been kind with me, always making sure I was okay. If you love working outdoors and being around animals, this is perfect for you. Thanks.
