My place is a peaceful, slow-paced, and nature-rich countryside surrounded by mountains. Because it is unknown both in Japan and abroad, almost no foreign tourists come here, so you will feel a special sense of exclusivity. However, it has very convenient transportation, making it a great base for traveling: to the east, you can easily visit Himeji, Kobe, Osaka, and Kyoto; to the west, Okayama and Hiroshima, and even Shikoku; and to the north, Tottori.

Even though it is an unknown place, many traditional Japanese cultures are still alive. These traditional cultures—such as Kendo, the tea ceremony, Japanese drums (Wadaiko) and calligraphy, Japanese class etc.—cannot be experienced anywhere else. If you come to my place, you can experience true Japanese culture for free and enjoy interactions with local people in a way you cannot anywhere else.
As for Wadaiko, my volunteers often get to perform on stage. As for Kendo, it takes time to learn the basics, so long-term stays are very welcome.

Unlike the city, our restaurant is located in a calm and peaceful place, featuring a private garden of over 1,000 tsubo (approx. 3,300 square meters) filled with seasonal flowers in full bloom. It is probably the only privately-run place like this. We also value interaction with our customers, creating a warm, homey atmosphere where talking with guests is part of the fun.

If you stay here, your Japanese will definitely improve. Therefore, anyone who is truly interested in Japanese culture and a slow-paced countryside life is very welcome.
★I don't accept couples, but pairs are okay.

My name is Hiring. I live in Kamigori with my husband and a dog. Kamigori lies in the countryside, meaning it is quiet and relaxing. The people here are very kind and willing to share local culture.

I really enjoyed my time with Hirin-san! I learnt a lot about Japanese culture and was able to experience it in a way you can't as a normal tourist. Hirin-san is a really happy person and makes you automatically feel happy too and she has good life lessons. The mural painting was great too. I am very grateful for having had this amazing experience!🌼🌺🌷🌻🌸🌹

My time in Kamigori was good. I had the opportunity to immerse myself with local Japanese culture and do all sorts of activities that were really enjoyable. My host Hirin provided a lot of facilities, and made incredible food. That being said I had the bad luck of being the only volunteer during my stay so it did got pretty lonely for me personally. I told Hirin if I could leave a week earlier, to which she accepted. From that moment she made derogatory comments about me a couple times which made me feel quite uneasy. Still, I am grateful for my time there, and the opportunity I was given.

Hiring san and susumu san were the friendliest and most welcoming hosts! The month that I spent in Kamigori was a true cultural immersion, and I can't thank the farm enough for giving me the opportunity to experience so many different wonderful activities! I am really going to miss the very beautiful Kamigori, and all the kind people I met there, and not to mention Hiring sans incredibly delicious food! :)

I had the best time at the farm. Kamigori is a wonderful little town where I was fortunate enough to spend my last month in.You're provided a bike to go in and out of town, and biking was probably my favorite part, as the scenery is so beautiful. I would often just go and bike for the whole afternoon, just getting lost in the views! I also got to experience many cultural activities! The restaurant work is very calm, the place is beautiful and I liked chatting to the customers whenever I could! Hirin and Suzumu were very kind to welcome me in their home and I'm beyond grateful to them!
