Classroom assistants are placed with a particular teacher and grade throughout their stay. As a classroom assistant, you would prepare teaching materials, help with classroom management, assist with lessons, and work one-on-one with kids who need extra help. You can work as an English Classroom Assistant or a Spanish Classroom Assistant, depending on your language level. You do not need to know Spanish, but a working knowledge is an advantage.

Working with EFTC was truly a transformative experience. The organization is amazing, and the kids were absolutely wonderful. The teachers were also incredible and helped me grow both personally and professionally while making my time there so enjoyable. Thank you so much for this wonderful opportunity. I'm truly grateful the school experience and everything I learned. I hope to see you all again soon! ❤️

I loved every second of my two week stay here! Susan made me feel welcomed right away and provided everything I could need. This is a great program to apply to if you love children, want to support the community, and learn the true ways of life in Jocotenango. I felt to much closer to Guatemala after this program, the school were the best part and I was excited to go every single day. I will definitely come back in the future, highly recommend!!!
