My name is Nelson, and I am responsible for a hostel in the city of Braga. Our hostel is a place with tradition and many stories, which we want to share with all the people who are passing through here.On your days off, you have the advantage of being near porto/the national park reserve, Nazare beach , other major cities, and the richness of our gastronomy and enology. As well as major shopping/ restuarants/ museums near by. Enjoy your stay!

I had a wonderful time at the hostel as my first volunteering experience Shifts are 6.5 hours long and the tasks are easy. I had plenty of free time to explore both Braga and the near towns and places. The team dorms are located in the basement. This is a huge plus during hot summer days, but it gets quite cold at night, so bring warm clothes. Nelson was a great host—very kind, reliable, and true to his word. There were occasional minor communication hiccups, but Nelson always made it clear that we could reach out immediately if anything came. I met incredible people and enjoyed every day!

The hostel was my first experience as a volunteer and it was amazing. I spent a really nice time there with lovely people. Braga is very well located so trips to other cities like Guimarães, Porto, Aveiro or even Lisbon are very frequent and affordable. The only thing that is a little bit more complicated is getting to the beach by the ocean or to the mountains by public transport. But apart from that, work at the hostel is chill and allows you to travel a lot. Nelson is a really nice host. He took good care of the volunteers and presented us with a bit of local culture✨
