Cheerful and reliable dog lovers welcome! You will help me with daily tasks of keeping the house clean & tidy, general maintenance, dog care, basic gardening. Opportunities to help my husband on diy projects. We would like to tidy up/landscape the garden so experience here would be helpful. Routine tasks - weeding, hedge trimming & lawn mowing.Other tasks vary seasonally. You will need to be fit and active; we go for 2 dog walks every day.

Jo and Charlie were lovely and welcomed me into their home with open arms! The room was spacious with a private bathroom for volunteers. I stayed with them in July. In the mornings, we walked the lovely dogs, followed by vacuuming and mopping. Other tasks included cleaning, gardening and oiling wood. Afternoons were often free, and we went for another walk in the evening. Volunteers are also expected to help with cooking and prepare a dish from their home country. They taught me a lot and Joanna's meals were always so good! I had a wonderful time and would highly recommend staying with them

Charlie and Joanna are good people. The tasks were fair and not difficult, however they are spread out throughout the day, if you need to work, you'll only be able to do so late afternoons and evenings. I really enjoyed getting to know all the doggies, they are very sweet and generally really easy going. Joanna makes good food and the volunteer room is spacious and en-suite, which makes it very comfortable. One thing to note is that the home is not that close to Cambridge, it's like 11km, and on Sundays and late evenings there aren't any busses.

My time with Joanna and Charlie was great, met so many lovely dogs and had many walks in nature. The room & house are cozy and the tasks are fair, mostly cleaning up and walking the dogs. Cambridge is a beautiful city and the bus ride is not too long - but it doesn't run on sundays. Joanna cooks really well, and they accommodated our vegan diet with much care. Definitely recommend!
