I had my first volunteering experience on Lisel's ranch and it couldn't have been better. She is incredibly kind and welcoming, making you feel at home right away. The work was varied and enjoyable, with occasional physically demanding moments. I learned a lot and really enjoyed being part of daily ranch life. The horses were very friendly, and I loved the three adorable cats. I'm very grateful for this experience - highly recommended. Thank you, Lisel!

Macclesfield is a very cute and small town, a couple pubs and what not but you will be very far from anything else without a car it is difficult. The work on the farm was fun, everyday chores are feeding the horses and cleaning manure and often weeding and mowing. If you would like to utilize your days off you have to express that in advance they are not scheduled by the host. Additionally, lunch and dinner are not provided so I would recommend going to the grocery store upon arrival.
